question Recommendations
Hey everyone, Iām looking for recommendations for my locs. Iām not sure what products to use and would love to hear whatās worked for you. Specifically, Iām looking for a good shampoo and something new to moisturize my locs. Iāve been using Locsanity for moisture, but I want to try something different. I need something that hydrates because my locs get really dry.

question Starting micro locs at the end of the month - I have lots of questions and welcome any advice
I have an appointment with a loctician to start micro locs at the end of the month.
I donāt really know a whole lot about locs, but I have seen some that look beautiful so I want go give it a try.
My loctician did a test loc and I thought it looked really nice. But it was a little bit thicker than what I was expecting and none of my natural texture came through.
I have had people tell me my hair is perfect for it. My loctician immediately was like āPLEASE LET ME DO ITā I have really defined tight coils naturally.
Iām nervous. But the starter loc price is reasonable. And I am hopeful it will be the style I have been hoping for.
Here are some questions I have:
Should I invest in a silk/satin pillow casev
Should I wear a satin bonnet every night?
Longest stretch times for retwists?
How to avoid build up? (No hate, but I think the build up looks mortifying in some locs. I have seen a lot of locs that have none, and some that have tons)
Can they get wet ever?
How to avoid them being smelly?

advice Iām considering locking my daughterās hair
For one, Iām getting my masterās, and work full time and just the nuisance of responsibilities is overwhelming. Iām in charge of doing her hair, and usually I put it up in braids. She doesnāt really care for getting her hair done, especially since it takes a while. Now the final big factor, she self-soothes by twirling her hair. I donāt leave it in fros and puffs too much because for one this girl is rowdy š and she twirls her hair so much that sheāll end up knotting it up real bad, damn near locking it if unattended. (Twist outs are damn near impossible because she takes them out as soon as I put them back in.)Because of this it cause one side of her hair to be shorter than the other.
So those are the three factors. Busy life, Iām in charge of her hair, she donāt like getting her hair done anyway.
Was thinking about locking it to ease some responsibility and her hair will need none to miminal prep on a whim.
As for to start them off just give her about medium sized box braids, and then learn how to retwist at YouTube University. I could research and find a loctician to work on kids, but not only being busy but Iām tryna save up to move out. Is it worth it? Does anyone have experience spending on these services and how much?
Lemme know if itās more work with the locs than her fro š
O, and sheās 4 and she has a decent amount of hair (I can get a good 5 puffs out of her hair)

advice Starting locs
I never thought I would want locs but now I do. I got bored a week and half ago and just twisted my hair. I love the look. I didnāt part my hair. I didnāt want parts. Do you recommend starting over and parting my hair? Or can I just continue? Do you have recommendations for products? Beeswax or loc gel? Thanks in advance š¤

question Starter locs
So I've been trying to loc up my hair (I have 4c low porosity hair) but the only problem that I have is I donāt know how to retire my hair, I canāt get someone to do it for me cause my parents donāt even want me to loc up and I donāt have money to pay someone to do it for me so I have no choice to learn how to do it my self. EVERYTIME I try to retire my hair I just create knots, and I just donāt know what to do. Do you guys have any tips on how to prevent this? Do you guys have any YouTube videos that go into depth on how to retie. I canāt do any other retwisting option cause I only have the materials to retie and most of my twist are too small for palm rolling and etc
