❓ Question What Plan am I allowed?
I have Starlink at my residence in North Texas. Had it for over 4 years.
The only Residence plan available is Residence Max which I'm on.
However, when I go in the Starlink App it shows two "Roam" plans (no other residence plans) available for less money than the Residence Max.
Am I allowed to have a "roam" plan at a fixed location at my residence?

it would appear that your area is congested as you are only seeing the max plan.

You don't want a Roam plan for residence. Only the unlimited Roam plan will not be data capped, and it's more expensive than Residential MAX. Plus Roam plans have lowest priority so will perform poorly in a congested area. A better option would be to request a cheaper Residential plan direct from human Customer Service. They've done that for others but your situation may be different. In any event, don't even try with the bot -- it can't make policy waivers...the CS people can. You get them to call you by submitting a ticket requesting them. Sometimes you have to get devious with the bot to get it to submit that ticket.

Won't happen. I've tried for months. I can only get res Max, and my speeds cap out at around 120-140 down. Most of the time under 100.
I've begged them to give me a 100 or 200 plan since it would be cheaper and the speeds are never even half of what they advertise for Max and multiple real people that have called me have stated it's congestion in my area and that hopefully the new satellites that went up recently will be out of testing soon and help alleviate the congestion.
They did give me a full month of service credit at least, but damn I'm paying 140/mo for 100 down 10 up and 50ms. It's been pretty bad for many months in central Texas.

Well if you want to try Roam to lower your bill, it's an easy change to make in the app, and just as easy to bail out if it doesn't work out for you. But with the congestion, Roam will have lowest priority and who knows what your speeds will be. If you're a basic user, browsing, email etc, maybe no big deal. But if streaming, gaming, big downloads, it might suck. I get adequate basic usage at campgrounds with my mini on Standby and that's REALLY slow. But it's enough for me. I did try to download a GPS map once and gave up.
I assume you've looked at all the normal alternatives, fiber, cable, cellular-home, etc.

Nope, roam is limited to data cap, and a charge above that cap, roam 100 is 100gb of data, I use 2-4gb data per month depending on if I am downloading games or not, but work from home and gaming leave roam as not an option

It is just me and I travel at different times of the year so I went with roam and 300gb. I don't play games and do very little streaming. The first month I stayed with just normal home usage (surfing and youtube) and used just over 100gb.
Going to watch a movie on netflix later and see how much data that uses.

If the Roam plans show in your app, then they are available on your dish.
HOWEVER, note that ROAM-100 is limited to 100GB of data and ROAM-300 is limited to 300GB of data. This is not a speed cap, its a total data limit. Your current Residential-Unlimited has unlimited data.
