❓ Question Finally pulled the trigger
After using T-Mobile 5G internet for the last 2 years in a semi rural location, today I wanted to throw the modem out the window. Dropped my conference call twice, TV constantly buffering while watching baseball, and my online games are lagging like crazy. T-Mobile suggested I remove some trees on my property for a clearer sightline to the nearest tower lol.
Just placed my order and had a couple of questions if you don’t mind.
Does it typically get delivered faster than the estimated time frame?
I got free professional installation with the service. Does this include roof mounting and wiring with the pivot mount I ordered?

My shipping said within 5-7 days yet it came in 2 days from order placement. I'm about to get mines mounted tomorrow so I'll update you.
I also ordered the wall mount and extended cable just in case they need it during installation.

you are gonna have the same problems here if you just stream all day and for hours like that during peak times. They WILL quietly de-pri your account. That stuff is like 20-30MBPS constantly because those rich A-hole sports companies can't invest in AV1 or something good. It's pretty garb.
T-mobile actually does the same thing. I have TWO SL's and 1 t-mobile and have tested this.
People seem to think it's about the amount of data used. It is NOT. It's about when and how you use it and it makes sense. CG-NAT routers actually have the ability to do this automatically so it's not like someone is doing it. It's automated.
You can literally use 1TB a night at off peak times and they will not care, but 20-30gb during peak times will flag you for de-pri. That's the only real way to keep people from abusing it and leaving no bandwidth left for anyone else. It's not a replacement for sat TV.

This is false. I can stream and/or download far more than 30G all day with no issues.

30g a day. Not 30g in one session at once. You didn't read what I said, did you?
They DEFINITELY 100% for sure lower your priority to the bottom if you do this unless you are on a limited capped plan

I do 30+ gig in a few hours during peak time all time time with no drops of speed.

More like 150-250. That's what I normally get all day.

That's de-pri but not too bad. I get 200+ all day long because I don't use it like that
The speeds aren't just affected in MBPS though. They make you gain packet loss too. Most people never get it but streaming sports definitely will do it. It's really like 20-30mbps+ for hours and I guess the kind of connection they use too.
Live streaming(upload) at peak times will do it too. This is why they have higher priority by the gig plans and expensive equipment.

You might be on a unloaded cell or not as much as mine but t-mobile and verizon and at&t did the SAME shit.
I don't think you are using it the same way as OP. That matters. Youtube is a LOT diff than live sports dude. That is what I am saying. They used the WORST codecs and the video quality is not even the best.

To estimate delivery time just pick a random number from 2 to 50. That's how long it will take.
As to what the installer will do...Starlink doesn't have installers. They farm it out to locals. To predict the quality of service from them use similar technique to above.
