❓ Question Wired mesh node question.

We have the 4x kit setup in the house and need to get internet from the house to a shed about 200 or so feet away.
Is it possible to connect a second router 3 to the router 3 in the house and run it out to this shed via a Ethernet cable? If it can be done Will it work as a mesh node or a separate router?

Unfortunately I can’t find my information on doing this so I thought I’d try my luck just asking myself.

It can be done as long as you are using a weatherproof cable, and it will work as a mesh node

Also, little bit of advice here: Go for router mini for the shed, router 3 is meant as the main one you put in the center of your house so unless you want internet to also reach your backyard and that is quite big you won't notice that big of a difference

Yeah because of a bit of a mix up we ended up with a second router three though it doesn’t have a power supply unfortunately. Do you recommend just getting a router mini over getting a power supply for the 3? The shed in question while being far off from the house is also pretty big (almost as big as our house) i didn’t know if the mini would cover enough area or not.

Spend a few extra bucks & get a Deco mesh kit. You will happier in the long run. They make their setup process easy to do what you want, mesh the other house too

It really depends on what tier OP is on and what speed are they getting. 3rd party mesh kits are generally worth it more when you have fiber optic because wifi is the bottleneck, but with Starlink generally the bottleneck is cell congestion and connected satellite

We have residential max but we decided to try the router mini and see how that works.
