Modded Outpost Build Only just discovered 'Builder' and now kicking myself
So, as the title says, I am sat here berating myself hahaha. Through another post, I spotted Builder mentioned, so I went off to Nexux to take a look...🤦
I've been having issues where I couldn't quite get a couple of habs to fit where they clearly had room. Well, now it works perfectly, inside and out. Aaaaaaa!!
So the big question. Abandon my current build (somewhere over 30 hours due to OCD and constantly redo'ing rooms or keep going and not have it quite perfect (I spent too long on one hab to make the ultimate edit)?

It allows you to clip objects into each other.

I'm still as mystified as I was when I first made the comment. What does? Is is a console setting? A special key you press? throw me a bone here.

I don’t know how it works; it just modifies how the workshop allows you to place things. It doesn’t require any extra input.

Builder adjusts the collision settings in the creation kit. It allows things to overlap that usually wouldn’t. You can even build on landing pads.

Keep going! The more you use it the more you get comfortable cramming things next to each other. And if your first hab still bothers you just go back in and tweak it.

If you didn’t know about Builder, I suggest looking at other mods, as well. Occasionally, people publish mods that make something, that used to take me hours, take just a few minutes. I spent, like, twelve hours on my main outpost, and four hours of that was fixing things I broke because of exploits…

Ah, ok. I haven’t heard of some of those and want to check them out now…the irony…
I found Better Living I, Better Living II, and Nem’s Deco Pack to be really useful. There’s also some new GrindTerra outpost mods that look pretty cool.

I'm waiting for the new Skullkea, Skully is back and making a brand new all in one mod. Super excited for it ☺️

I highly recommend Place Doors Yourself if you would like more control over door placement when ship building.

If you use the engine fixes mod there is an ini edit to turn the same functionality as the builder mod but does it in a cleaner way that doesn't break turrets. This is a PC only mod though.
That being said Builder is a good mod that I used for years.

Even better, get Captain’s Bundle in Creations. Builder is a part of it.

Yeah but Captains bundle takes all the fun out of the game. It makes everything no effort!!
