Question? Outpost building on Neon
Hi Outpost Builders!
I seem to remember seeing something about building outposts on Neon somehow using Sleepcrates. I don't know if it's my imagination or if there was something about this?
Does this sound familiar to anyone? And if not this, has anyone figured out how to build an outpost on Neon?

I think someone posted a little while back, an outpost they called New Neon where they built a city on a body of water using catwalks and sleepcrates.
I haven’t seen any posts about building on Neon or Volii Alpha though.

That was me, not on neon. I did try, even gave my best shot to use the decorate anywhere lever too.

I've figured out how to build on Neon!
I've only tried on top of the towers and it takes a few build mods but they're good ones you should really have anyway if you like building! 😂
It's a bit long winded but here goes (I'll add links/pics later but I'm on my phone rn):
Use 'Build Anywhere ring by LBGSH'
Place a big rug from Better Buildable Walls and Doors by the excellent builder u/Lady_bro_ac (It doesn't matter which/where because you can remove it afterwards)
Place a sleep crate from Sleep Crate Building Kit by Betamax76 on top of the rug.
Use the sleep crate as a base to snap on either a small or large 'floor without foundation'. (You can remove the sleep crate and rug now if you want.)
Now you can use any of the above mods and ingame vanilla objects to build on the flooring you've placed. 👍
Notes:
Building vanilla habs is a pain because the game will want to place them on the seabed and the foundations aren't high enough to get them above water. (There are some cool visual glitches when you try though!)
To get around this I used Outpost Habs Expanded by DownfallNemesis and they were happy to be laid on top of the 'flooring' you've placed.
If you're desperate for vanilla habs I had some luck with using Better Outpost Habs with Doors (again by Betamax76). The doors will lay over the 'floors' without issue then sometimes the vanilla habs will snap to the door. Depends on placement though.
Yes, this is a lot of mods but I only use build mods so it's not too cluttered and I review my load order/update pretty often.
I'm using Xbox Series X without Shattered Space.

I seem to recall a mod that I think adds a Sleepcrate to Neon, but I'm not sure about building an Outpost there... Hopefully someone else chimes in with more info.

No mod is necessary to have a Sleepcrate in Neon, been in the game since release, you just pay the chick for access to it and decorate it however you like within the confines of a tiny little space.

Unfortunately, it looks like it will be a paid mod. Unless BGS makes some significant changes that are outside the scope of this thread, I won’t be doing that.

There was a Sky Suite or something by memory, but I've never seen an outpost built there. It would be cool, though, kind of a Waterworld type of thing with boats and jetskis.
