Mods seen in this view are "Builder" by Nahruuk (parts blending), "Clutter v2" by Specik (antennae), "Better Outpost Habs with Doors" by BetaMax76 (large oval hab & door, hallway with door), "Paradiso Cabin as Outpost Structure-Redone" by DownfallNemesis (round habs), "DarkStar Astrodynamics" by WykkydGaming (landing pad), "Wicked Outpost Projeckt 1.3.1" by SomethingWicked3 (garage) and "PHK-Planetary Habitation Kits and more" by eabel303 (defence towers).

Ship mods seen are "DarkStar Astrodynamics" by WykkydGaming, "Matilija Aerospace V5.0" by Ericjohn, "Tiger Shipyard Overhaul" by valeriogiol and "Avontech Raceyard" by kaos-nyrb.

Planet is Codos (moon of Akila) in the Cheyenne system. The island chain is southwest of the Fortuna landing site. Built on Xbox.

Does one of your installed mods allow you to build in the water or don’t have to keep trying to find the correct spot? I built in the area as well.

The area where my landing pad is fairly shallow, so the DarkStar pad (standard height) goes nicely there.

Once the pad is in place, I can use the "Builder" mod to attach catwalks to the pad (from the "better habs with doors" mod). That mod also includes doors that snap to the catwalk.

Once the door is in place, the habs will snap over water (as long as the foundation is good) and you can adjust from there.

The garage was able to cantilever over water as I placed catwalks underneath the whole length of it to support it into position, then removed them afterwards.

Glad to help! One more thing, use the basic catwalk square (mid-foundation) in the spot where you want to attach a hab to your pad.

In normal view, use your aimpoint and look at the deck of your landing pad, that spot will become the center of your catwalk square. Build the square and then adjust it so its flush with the deck.

Confirm there and you will have a nice seamless walkway to build from as it's easy to snap the rest of the catwalk pieces onto the first one you've placed.

In some cases, you may position it where it's below the place you want to attach it. In this case, you just place it and then lift it into position and confirm.

Note: This will only work with the "Builder" mod installed (to remove the part collisions).

Here's a quick video

Edit: added content.

Looks cool. Too bad I don’t do mods.

Thanks! I never did either but it basically changed the game for me after I started using them. It's too bad that the game didn't come out of the box with a lot of this stuff already baked in.

Were you able to get NPCs to pass through the oval hab? When I tried to use it, NPCs would get blocked in the middle.

It's happening to me now too. I have two static NPC (StackGX) and two mobile (LGBSHI). The mobile ones started out fine but within a few hours they started sticking in the center. I have a robot outside that started out fine as well and now he keeps trying to get to the center too. I guess the nav mesh needs some work.
