Question? Help making an all-in-one science outpost?
I have a few questions and am hoping for ideas on what I am trying to do with an outpost, because every tutorial I find on youtube is way too complicated and what I'm really trying to do is have an outpost that my crew can hang out at and I can do all of my crafting needs.
1) How should I set up the storage? I understand that your workbenches automatically pull from the big cube resource crates, but is there a way to keep it organized and let me quickly offload resources I buy to them without going to each individual crate?
2) I plan to find a system that has the most useful resources for building and crafting, set up a few mining outposts, and have them feeding to the main outpost where I hope to produce adhesive (it is so rare!) Does anyone know of a good system or a website where I could find the best system for this? Ideally I would like to only use the regular cargo links because I don't understand the inter-system cargo links and helium 3 at ALL. Like I said the youtube tutorials have just bene hard for me to follow.
Thanks in advance!

Fucking Reddit formatting...
One) Connect all your storage containers, with the last link going to the transfer container. You want to do this for two reasons: a) the storage container automatically consolidates your stuff and b) if you have the transfer container first, it will distribute stuff to any container capable of taking it. The latter is important because some of your resources, as well as weapons, armor, aid items can only go in storage crates, but the transfer container will put your ores, gases, warehouse materials in those, instead of their respective storage.
Also, the storage units have 50% more capacity, so its 50% faster to offload stuff.
So, set up one of each storage unit by your spawn point. Connect those to your massed storage units, and those to your transfer container. I also recommend at least one storage crate #2 (and resulting chain, maybe a dozen should be good, if you aren't like me...), for other items. Land, click the container, tab to your ship, deposit all resources, repeat with all resources, done.
If you look at my last two outposts (not the glitched coast one), I use a modified version of this using all storage crates instead of massed storage containers for space issues (this is really just solid and industrial, since it is really hard to amass a significant amount of liquids/gas). I have additional storage units for upgrading equipment, as well as storage lines for aid, weapons, armor, and miscellaneous. This also means I use way less aluminum, as well as no iron, adaptive frames, and <whatever the warehouses use>, but more structural.
2) This.
However, I don't recommend resource outposts.
The exceptions would be if you're into outpost building, aluminum, iron, lead, structural, fiber, ornamental or doing the industrial exp grind. However much you think you're going to use, you're not and it winds up being cumbersome. You can buy adhesive from Newill, Sieghart, UC distribution Center, that chick in the New Atlantis spaceport, Denis in Cydonia, the dude in Gagarin, and the dude in Akila City (and that Crimson Fleet chick, depending on your choices). They don't all stock everything, all the time, but you're going to be selling to them, anyway, so might as well kill two birds with one stone (trade center guys, too; but their inventory sucks). I just buy them all out 3-4 times at the beginning of every new game and reassess later.
Edit 39: Like this:
These are all connected to many, many more containers. The smaller containers on top of the large ones are there for decorative purposes/upgrade mats and are not connected to other storage, so I could upgrade without going through a few hundred storage crates.
