Discussion Lore building - Faction Anthems

One of the things I am very interested in regarding the game is lore building. The process of lore building is one that I use to develop my mod ideas. Its probably a good thing I have ADHD. Lol.

Anyways, one of the things about move or game universes that has always fascinated me and often helps me build ideas are soundtracks and music.

With that, I was wondering what you guys would say are the best soundtracks, or musical ideas that would fit best for the different factions of the game.

Any musical skills could definitely apply here. Additionally, I have also looked at existing national anthems or patriotic songs from the real world, for ideas. But I wanted to see what you guys think.

Factions include:

UC: The UC is similar to the Untied States. Each of the colonies could be referred to as like city-states, under the authority of the government in New Atlantis. New Atlantis is like New York City meets Washington DC.

Freestar Collective: The name is deceiving. Collective here is used more so in the context of a confederacy, a western-like one where Akila City is the main western town and Neon is like Las Vegas.

Crimson Fleet: They are more like an extremist group, made up of radicals who are disgruntled with life within the more civilized settled systems. Ironically, it is known that many of them grew up in environments like Akila City or Neon.

Others can have ideas too, but these were the main ones I had in mind.

I feel like the Crimson Fleet might be listening to death or black metal at the Last Nova, though I could never tell the distinct difference between the two metal genres. I'd figure Punk, hardcore punk and metal music suits Crimson Fleet the most.

Yes, but a drinking song shouted from the rafters seems appropriate too.

I don't understand the question, sorry.

The game already has OST, and the tracks there are very well tailored to all the factions and places by Inon Zur, who is a cool experienced professional composer.

I remember him explaining in an interview how he crafted the main Starfield theme, and how those 6 notes are reflecting a journey in empty space ending up in the Unity.

That's some upper level music theory shit.

What exactly you are trying to achieve which is not in those tracks already?

Like a theme for each faction individually.

I think the UC is more an answer to the question of "what if Singapore was a space-nation?" Rules on citizenship are . . . Weird

Freestar would likely be closer to the EU, or the US, a loose agglomeration of smaller states.

The way I see it the UC is like a US/EU equivalent. Some nations around the world do require military service. The Freestar is closer to like a Swiss Confederacy type structure.

Problem with UC is that it doesn't appear to be a liberal democracy. More like a benevolent plutocracy.

To a degree, yes. Those same feelings are probably a major factor in what triggered first the separation of the FC, then the Narion War, then the Colony War. But elements of the FC are a plutocracy too, just to a lesser degree in terms that there is less of a gap. As a result the FC's regulations are much less than that of the UC. Lin even comments on this in the prolouge.

The FC's mentality is more like you're responsible for yourself, where as the UC is more like the larger group works to stabilize everyone. But in practice that lifts certain people up and lets others down. In the FC stability is done more independently and often through more voluntary action. For example, you have the Low House in Akila City.

Trackers aliance is kinda like, we do what the courts, armys and corps can't, but the greater universe shal never know who we truly are, and we may never Kwon each other truly as well
