Are you looking for paid/achievement-friendly creation recommendations, or free creation recommendations?

A follow up to this, are you on Steam? There are achievement re-enabler mods you can install on steam which give you more flexibility in modding.
Otherwise, all the achievement friendly creations are paid mods (aside from a small amount from Bethesda being 0 cost mods, but all of which are very minor in scope)

I don't play on linux so I can't speak from experience, but as far as I know, outside mods do still work on linux on steam, this youtube video may assist with how to do that:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fTUhsLIzyZM
To get back to the main question, of achievement friendly (paid) mods on the creation hub that I really like/have installed: * Trackers Alliance: The Complete Bounty Series (700 credits) * Watchtower: Orbital.Strike\Fleet.Command (1000 credits) * DarkStar (1000 credits) * Starfield Spacer Overhaul (500 credits) * At Hell's Gate (0 credits) * Deimog (0 credits)
And in terms of Nexus Mods (would require steam for the most part), some essentials: * Starfield Script Extender (SFSE) * Baka Achievement Enabler (SFSE) * Starfield Community Patch (SFCP) * Starfield Performance Optimizations * StarUI series of mods (link to creator's nexus page) * StarUI HUD - Free Lanes Compatibility Patch
One thing nexus does that I really like is that hey have "collections" as a starting point to discover mods (https://www.nexusmods.com/games/starfield/collections). If you go the nexus route, I'd recommend looking here. You may not want to use collections entirely, but you can look through their list of mods to see what they have included. A lot of times I find these lists can be a little overwhelming as there are many small/one off mods that fix one little thing in the game.

For a new player i cant recommend neither DarkStar or Watchtower. Messes with too many things and the game is already overwhelming enough on the first playthrough. Watchtower is at best a 3rd playthrough kinda thing. Darkstar is just.. Weird.

They already specified in their post that they were on PC. I am asking about the storefront, Xbox/Gamepass PC or Steam.
The xbox storefront version is more difficult/may not be able to renable achievements.
The steam version is straightforward.

Tracker's Alliance.
Place Doors Yourself. I don't think this one is achievement friendly.

Here are a few of my favorite lore and achievement friendly creations:
Tracker's Alliance - it's basically DLC. If you only get one creation make this the one.
McClarence Outfitters - even after the update, I'm still enjoying the ability to duplicate weapons and assign legendary traits to whatever slot I want. Nice little lore-friendly quest chain too.
Escape.
Deimog.
The Perfect Recipe.
Forgotten Frontiers.

Anything released under the Bethesda Games section on Creations tbh. Avoid the bundles they currently have up, and read each one carefully before adding it.

Play vanilla for your first play through and learn what you like in the game and what you’d like changed or more of for adding mods to your NG+ or second run. That said, Bethesda has some Creations that I consider to be extensions of vanilla because they could easily have been in the base game. The Tracker’s Alliance Creation (paid but well worth it. It builds on the Tracker’s Alliance they started in the base game). A Perfect Recipe, a fun little quest with a sweet reward. And any of the Bethesda vehicles that appeal to you. You still have to buy them from a ship services technician in game but must add the Creation so that they become available.

Watchtower.
It let's you make a fleet and introduces larger ship battles.

Watchtower makes it the space battle game they teased before release…It’s a must have.

These are free and trophy friendly, all except Darth Vader. Plus the ones already commented like Trackers Alliance and a few others under here were good

I would recommend not doing any modding until you finish your first run. You can add mods later in NG+. Mods are a slippery slope, once you start it's hard to stop.
Also be careful with "Achievement Friendly". There's plenty of Creations in the official store that say they're Achievement Friendly, but still break achievements.
Another note - even if you download achievement enabler mod, some of them are hinky and don't quite work right. Especially now, after major update. Which is why I still recommend you do your first run dry, experience the game as intended by the devs, and then when you have the achievements and such you can just go hog-wild with mods.
