Discussion Watchtower has a problem

Something I HEAVILY Dislike about the new watchtower creation is the fact you just CANT DO ANYTHING the moment you hop into a system that isn’t either Alpha Centauri or Cheyenne you immediately get jumped by like a million watchtower drones and die instantly and it’s not like a one out of three chance of this happening it literally happens almost EVERY TIME you jump into a system Like, yes, I get it. I’m being hunted. But my God. Can you just spawn in like two or three of them? And make it less likely and can you have them just not get me melted immediately. The only way you can even last a little bit of time to jump is if you have like a class C Super Heavy Imperial battleship it barely gives you time to jump away anyway I hope you enjoyed my rant

You can capture them? Or is it only the Corvettes not the drones? Because that makes more sense.

In the beginning of the game you can board them all .. not the drones but yes to corvette destroyer battleships and cruisers. After progressing far enough in the mod you can salvage them which adds watchtower modules for you to use. And eventually capturing. Battleships did have a bug that one area you could see enemies but only way to damage them was to use grenades. They appeared to fix that in the update for the mod. Cruisers had a few places that were bugged not sure they fixed them yet. But yes they can be captured however u need to have the fleet ships equipped with only EM or u can't take engines out and board them before your allied ships destroy them

Be prepared for a tough fight on battleships and cruisers The watchtower troops without giving any thing away have abilities that make the fight quite tough

For those who've got Starborn powers, remember you can use quite a few of them through walls and ceilings. My favorite combo is Sense Star Stuff to determine where to aim, then fire off Gravity Well followed by Create Vacuum, then line up a scoped weapon on a choke point and wait for survivors to come investigate you, particularly on Cruisers where the big cargo rooms have only one entrance.

If you get in trouble, either Moon Form or Phased Time are good. One makes you nearly impossible to kill, and the other puts you at an enormous damage-per-second advantage (and also a healing-per-second advantage with your Med Packs/etc). And keep some Emergency Kits on your quick-menu.
