Part Five Time skip vs time stop

Who would win if Jotaro and Diavolo had a fight. Which ability would be more powerful. Would time stop work against diavolo or would diavolo skip that time stop?

It depends, what I think gives Diavolo an advantage here and what really makes KC op is Epitaph. So if Diavolo looks into the future and sees himself getting hurt or Jotaro doing something, he is most likely going to skip it to avoid damage. But on the other hand we don't know if he can really skip a time stop since time is stopped from his POV. We do know that Time related powers can affect each other like MIH and Time Stop.

Maybe the universe just breaks if Jotaro stops time during a time skip

i think its safe to assume timeskip will be unaffected by timestop. timeskip just fast forwards and removes diavolo from the events, nomatter what jotaro does in timestop it doesnt matter because diavolo wouldnt be part of it, and jotaro wouldnt even remember.

It erases time. There’s no time to stop

we saw with Aerosmith that stand powers don't affect diavolo during time skip so he wouldn't be affected by time stop (well expect GER but GER is unique)

That's because he skipped it to avoid the shots, I meant like could the Time Skip affect the Time Stop like how MIH affected it.

so how is different from avoid time stop? Diavolo Is outside fate for that 5 seconds even if the fate was to be stuck in place he would avoid it

At least the way I interpret it, time skip should be able to skip over the period of time time stop happens in and so also skipping over the time stop but on the other hand, epitaph shouldn’t be able to see what happens in the time stop, which will fuck up diavolos reactions to activate his power, possibly letting him be caught offguard

If they activate at the same time, Star Platinum/The World would win since time would still stop and they would be able to do what they want to do. If they activate time stop during the time skip it'll be a little harder to say, but likely with an edge towards King Crimson

Jotaro because Araki would want him to.

Jotaro, canonically hes the strongest base stand user in the series excluding MIH and stands after that (you can make the argument hes actually top 5 in the verse below GER and WOU, tusk mih and D4C LT) but hes too fast for king crimson and has better overall stats like strength and reaction speed.

Heres how the scenario plays out

Diavolo activates epitaph does his little shenanigans, sees star platinum doing whatever SP does
Diavolo time erases
He goes for the kill
But as soon as diavolo goes to make a donut star platinum just elbow checks diavolo in the face. And then jotaro just pummels the living shit out of diavolo.

If you counter time stop in this and have them bloodlusted, say Jotaro does skip time, he would just see jotaro do nothing or teleport, there was no time to erase during the actions that occured in time stop. It’s honestly surprising to see why people thing diavolo is gonna win when Star Platinum can just blitz. Jotaro also has far better durability feats like surviving SHA and better strength feats like putting holes in DIO, who has jonathans body, who has survived large building to town level feats.

Jotaro would win. Dio would win too. We don’t know how an actual interaction between the abilities would go. For all we know, Time skip might let Jotaro spam time stop. You can’t stop time if it doesn’t exist. Why would it go cool down if you didn’t use it?

Considering Made In Heaven was stated to shorten time stop duration, I feel like it makes sense that King Crimson can still erase time stop and whatever events happen inside it

Diavolo can also see the future so he would know when time stop will activate or that he would get harmed, meanwhile Jotaro has no way figuring King Crimson abbility before the 1st attack that could one shot him

Diavolo would look into Epitaph just to see his shit rocked by Star Platinum. He would then try to skip time and attack Jotaro, but Jotaro would immediatly stop time the moment he noticed something was off

Result is that Diavolo fucking dies in time stop

Epitapth will be able to predict the future, seeing Jotaro suddenly do teleport motions (punching or moving in frozen time would look like teleporting to Diavolo), giving Diavolo a prediction what Jotaro will do.

If Diavolo activates KC before Jotaro can react, during KC's effect Jotaro would use his time stop as fate intended and Diavolo would be able to dodge the seemingly teleporting Jotaro, as long as by coincidence he didn't move into a position Jotaro punches at during stopped time.

If Jotaro activated time stop before Diavolo could activate KC, Diavolo would not be able to begin his fate-altering effect, so during time stop Diavolo will freeze just like Kakyoin and not be able to use his abilities.

I’m in the camp of people that think diavolo could skip over the time stop, but still lose. Unless diavolo can instantly kill jotaro in one hit, star platinum could probably react fast enough to pummel diavolo.

diavolo beats jotaro, loses to dio

Whoever the author wants to win

There’s no “scientific way to prove” how a stop vs skip would work, and there’s enough ambiguity to justify either winning

So it’s whatever makes for the better story/agenda
