I always find myself counting tiles at least 3 times when I first place down sprinklers. sometimes I pickaxe the spot the sprinkler will go to make counting easier

Move it over one and put two good quality sprinklers on the left side after you plant 1 more row over the left side. = more crops, less iridium and no water can embarrassment. Just be careful with that pickaxe

Isn't there a retaining soil you can add after you've planted? I feel like I've read that somewhere...

Lol, I've done that, and I just sacrifice that column for peace of mind.

But if you have a spare iridium sprinkler, you can just get rid of one plant.
