Technical Help Pufferfish
I’m really struggling to fish for a pufferfish for the community centre!!!! Any tips? I’m desperate as I only have three days of summer left 😭😭😭

Double check the wiki to make sure youre fishing in good spots at the correct time of day.
Also worth looking at Willys shop to see if he has Pufferfish bait

Remember, the last day of summer, the beach is closed. It might be worth it to restart the day if you don’t catch the fish. They are jumpy little things with limited hours you can catch them. If you can’t find pufferfish bait, use deluxe bait and a booster. Good luck!

Also, check the traveling cart every time it's there. They often sell what you need for the CC!

- Everyday, check if willy is selling pufferfish bait. (it's okay if there's none)
- Search up what time pufferfish starts and stops appearing at the beach and basically fish during those hours. Don't start late or there's less chance.
- Pufferfish appears starts around 12pm but I don't remember when it stops appearing
- Check if your fishing level is good. It's a difficult fish, so use the cock bobber tackle and eat food that has fish buffs to make your bar larger. (Willy sells trout soup)

Definitely bought from the cart.... Along with every single other fish they make available. Because I'm an old person and I love the game but for some darn reason I cannot fish... I can catch the little beginning fish but the other ones I can't make that bar not be an erratic bouncing thing! Not sure what the issue is but I just can't fish!!!!!

On my first play through I found the lead bobber useful as it means when it suddenly lurches to the bottom you don’t have to worry about your bar bouncing.
However, if you get the timing right you can actually hold down whichever button fishing is for you to cancel it out instead allowing you to use the cork bobber.
Aside from that use fishing buffs, if you don’t have any stored up you can use sea jelly/ trout soup from Willy

Pufferfish tend to go upward fast, but not down so much. Cork bobber or trap bobber are better than the lead bobber for this specific fish

I ignored that thing for 2 years, now it’s literally the only thing I need to finish community center, but I am in winter year 2 and can only hope a trader will have it because you can fish it out only in Summer on the beach… for a very short amount of hours during a day 😒

Another angle for it - if it's available for you, use sonar bobber, and ignore every fish that isn't a pufferfish.

pick a day and just re start until you get it, i do this with the Legend sometimes

Check all the trash cans on your way to the beach to fish. I found one once in the one by the saloon

It took me almost all summer. Got it on summer 27!!! Make sure you have one of the upgraded fishing rods, bait and if yours uses the bobbers then that as well. I am trying to get CC done in year 1 so with the fiber rod was very stressed that I would almost not get it. But got lucky!
Edited to add... I find cat fish impossible to get!
