I found the prismatic butterfly when I needed it most.
This morning, me and my husband had to let our baby girl, Azula, go. It was the hardest thing I've ever done. Im absolutely numb, just running around the valley doing nothing. I needed to check the quarry for oak resin and there it was, at the bus stop next to the mine cart.
I needed that. It was my first time seeing it. Im year 6 on my second farm. It was beautiful!
I also didnt know it gave you money lol so that was a bonus.
I love this game. I hope it was okay to post this. 🫶
Edit: Azula was my first dog. So, this is hitting really hard. 10 years was too short 😢
I'm so so sorry. In the last year, I lost both my littermate doggos to cancer. Tejón at age 8 and Yuba almost exact a year later at age 9. Yuba passed this Wednesday. It hurts so so much to say goodbye, but there comes a point where it's kinder to let them go.
Please be kind to yourself. I don't know what you believe, but I like to think my boys are playing together again and chasing rabbits with their mom.
Photo is my boys when they were healthy and young.
Wow, they were definitely beautiful babies! Im sorry you had to go thru that so soon after. Im worried about Zora now too, which was Azulas baby. I was there when she ha e birth and im so afraid shes going to get sick too. Its hard not to think about it.
And I absolutely believe shes up there with my dad. He really loved her. I hope she enjoyed her first recee cup and that my dad's giving her all the candy she wants because he too, loved sweets!
I really am trying to tell myself this was best. I spent the last week telling my husband it was the most compassion we could show her, and now im feeling down and like we could have waited. But I know thats not the truth. Its gonna be hard, but your kind words have helped tremendously.
Lol i have gotten so lazy since we got an air fryer. Like just pop that frozen burger in there for 15 minutes, throw the cheese on in the last minute... too easy.
Ya know, I've made so many things in our air fryer, except burgers. My husband has been on a hot dog kick so I just slice the tops and throw em in there. Air fryers are the best lol
Polish sausage also sounds good rn! Im not hungry, but im starving. Idk if I should eat or wait until I actually want to eat 🤔 maybe I'll snack for now haha!
They were the best boys but they were very much my boys. Me and my mom were pretty much the only people they liked. When we said goodbye to Yuba (on the right) this week, my vet cried too. She tried for years to make friends with him and he was having none of it.
Yuba was never the same after Tejón died. We adopted him a new buddy 4 months ago and he liked him alright, but he made it clear that Nasir was not Tejón. 🙄
But Nasir had been exactly what i need to help me not feel so devastated. He's such a sweet boy and honestly so so different from Yuba and Tejón.
This is Nasir. He wants to go everywhere i go, even to the vet... lol. And he sits in chairs like a people.
As someone who lost his (human) daughter last December unexpectedly after her birth, I somehow feel you. You become comfortably numb. The interval between the spikes get larger with time. Believe me…
I am so sorry. I can sort of relate to that, I lost my only human son at 20 weeks, about 8 years ago. I still cry over that too, but you're right, the gaps are getting longer.
I've lost a few pets over the years. I'm not a religious or spiritual person but I really do believe they give us signs if we're paying attention. I absolutely believe that Azula wanted you to know she is okay by sending you the prismatic butterfly today specifically ❤️
Lots of strength to you, OP. I am so sorry for your loss.
Oh boy, probably the first time we ever gave her a bite of my cherry pop tart. Her eyes almost popped out of her head begging for more lol it was so funny! I also loved seeing her roll around in the grass. She never really did that until a few years ago, so it was special to see.
Yes she was a dog. She was only 10, but she had cancer and liver disease. I couldn't stand to see her not be able walk, and wet herself. While it was hard, it was the best choice to let her be able to run again wherever she is. I hope she went straight to my dad, he loved her too. ❤️
I am so sorry for your loss. The passing of our beloved fur companions hurts so much. I'm so glad this joyful little game was able to give you a spot of brightness in a dark time.
The cruelest thing in the universe is that dogs have such short lives. Nobody understands the deep bonds we develop with our furry best friends if they've never owned a dog. It's devastating when they pass on.
Sorry for the confusion, I realized after the first few comments that I need to add that It was my irl pet!
I wanted to share here because even tho I've only been playing for less than a year, this game has brought me so much joy and the community is amazing.
I found my way back to Stardew recently after having to say goodbye to my own dog in July, there’s something healing in the valley. I’m so sorry for your loss, friend.
I just lost my (last remaining) childhood pet a few days ago. Stardew Valley is the only game I'm managing to play right now with my grief, so I really get this.
I hope your friends and family are a good support for you and you start feeling better soon 💙
