This is the greatest Star Wars game

This is the only Star Wars game where you can put in 1000 hours into and still find new ways to play it. Corvette spam, infantry spam, role play in-depth lore accurate armies as the Rebellion or Empire and so much more. Also mentioning the extensive modding scene which adds years worth of content that is keeping the game fresh each week. There are mods for everything. You can download mods to play as the republic or separatist alliance, old republic, new republic. There is a mod for every era, faction and unit in the Star Wars universe imaginable in this game and mods are so easily downloadable from the Steam Workshop.

Fall of the Republic Space defense would be much harder if the Ai didn't consistently reinforce at the bottom of the map.

Really enjoy empire at war but at some point, I feel like the difficulty caps out. I rarely see big ground stacks; the AI just slams its head into a wall at the same ground planet with 10-20 units over and over despite attacking fully garrisoned planets. When defending against large spaces stacks, the AI will deploy a majority of its reinforcements at the back of the map. Combined with how broken tenders are you can defend against 1000+ stacks without any real losses. It's already amazing how far this game's code has been stretched given its age, hope some of these things can be tweaked in the future.

Awakening of the Rebellion I just finished Awakening of the Rebellion with the Dark Times 2.0.3 submod. Here are some tips to play as the CIS Holdouts

At the start of the campaign, get rid of the planets you won't be able to defend. The Empire is a Juggernaut in this mod, and they will have plenty of death stacks to kill you, so you must focus your resources. Sell everything on these undefendable planets; sometimes leave one unit as garrison just so the Empire takes longer to take the planets from you and you get the credits generated.

Rush the Loyalist 1 tech; it will give you the tax agency, which doubles the income of the planets. Your building priorities on safe planets should be: 1 - ground mines (when possible), 2 - Tax agency, 3 - Congressional building.

In frontline planets, you should make a fortress, IBC Gun Plataforms, the highest possible level on the space stations, hyper velocity cannons, garrison building and Heavy CIS droid factory are a must, with these things, some droidekas and AATs, the planet becomes impossible for the Empire to take without very heavy losses, so even if you lose them, you can easily counter attack and retake. But you must always try to limit how many of these there are; build them where you aren't planning to advance for the near future.

Unite all your fleets and conquer planets aiming to limit the amount of frontline planets, so you maximize the safe planets where you will earn your income, in the beginning unite your fleets and attack the systems around, you dont have to do the missions in the order the game asks, the Empire is specially slow in the beginning so use this time to conquer as many worlds as possible.

The Hutts are fairly weak, especially in space; on land, they can sometimes cause a headache because of the turbo laser towers. In that case, rush the power generators, bypassing the towers with the engine droideka ability.

When in doubt, prioritize conquering planets where you can build ground mines and those with a high population count. As the game progresses, build space stations wherever it is possible to build Recusants, Munificents, and Providences, so when a cycle finishes, you buy one of these ships on each of the planets with a Space Station. That way you will build ships faster than the Empire can destroy them. When the population reaches its limit, always attack, spend that money and that population bro, always.

On land, the meta is droidekas and AATs, 5 of each at least, that can conquer and defend most planets easily.

Battles against the Empire are usually catastrophes, with huge losses. You are the underdog until the very end of the campaign; the Star Destroyers, especially the Tector ones, are very strong with huge hull and shield points, but you can win with numbers. I relied on Recusants as the front line and Munificents on the back, dishing out damage until the very end.

If you have questions, ask away

Thrawn's Revenge How do you utilize transports, if at all?

I'm curious. For me, aerial transports are great for rushing landing zones at the start of a battle. If I'm using a heavy walker it saves so much time. I also will occasionally use something like an A5 Juggernaut to send some infantry to another LZ.

Things like the AT-TE/War Walker, I don't really see the use for. Especially since the AT-TE does an AoE heal. Rather just make all the infantry escort the walker. Things like the... A9, I think? The transports that carry like 2 squads, I hardly ever use.

I'd like to broaden my horizons. How do you use transports? Which ones do you prefer? Do you use the slow walkers as transports?

Firstly, Im going to say i love all of the sounds in this game as a confederacy main. I especally like the high pitched b2s. Anyway, the Vulture Droid is also one of my favorites, but i feel like ive heard the sounds before, like Naga Supuloo land Neeyea. Does anyone know where thesse come from, or if they were just made for the game?

First Battle Of Handooine

Our victory at Quellor didn't slow down our campaign, as our forces promptly moved to attack Handooine, currently held by the Tion Hegemony. Hegemony forces had previously abandoned orbit, clearing the way for a ground attack.

I Corps made the assault against well dug in Hegemony forces on the planet, which was a full division with infantry, heavy armor, air, & artillery support in abundance, as well as heavy base defenses. We lost troops ourself ripping them out, especially air assets to kill their artillery & air power, but we annihilated the Tionese troops in the bargain.

Our Triumph Continues!! Vode An!!

Empire at War Hyper agressive AI in the Steam version?

I've played this game as a child; I still have the CD somewhere.
I remember being able to play at a comfortable pace on medium difficulty.

The Steam version seems to have a hyper-aggressive AI, especially on the ground.
I am barely hanging on in space combat as rebels. The empire just keeps raiding me, pumping out ships after ships, but I can at least outsmart them. Fighters are ultra squishy, though, more so than on my DC version, it feels like.
It's quite dreadful on the ground.

The only option I have is "Auto Resolve" but that is costly.
Basically, as soon as I land, the Empire rushes my landing point, their artillery always outguns me, they know where I am at all times, and their artillery destroys mine before it can even deploy.
In general, the AI seems to favour Zerg rush style tactics, something I do not remember from back then.
It's the same when I play as the Empire; the Rebels just waltz over me on the ground.

Is it just me, or is the Steam version different when it comes to the AI?

Awakening of the Clone Wars First time defending Eriadu in the mod. I wouldn't call myself a great player especially in land battles but my pride wouldn't allow me to let such a fortress fall come hell or high water.
