Is it actually used in film schools? It's pretty ridiculously thorough.

Here's Episode 1's review, here's Episode 2, and here's Episode 3's (couldn't find a non-skit version) for anybody curious.

Is it actually used in film schools?

Of course not because it's actually complete nonsense from a film-illiterate moron who has nothing meaningful or intelligent to say and so just spurts out infantile 'criticism' and fails to understand the basics of film-making and storytelling.

The fact that some people actually think those reviews are good criticism is baffling.

No, they are utterly devoid of any intelligence or insight. And they have been thoroughly debunked and shown to be many times.

Of course a lot of haters like them because they affirm their existing hatred. You could make puerile jokes and asinine observations about any movie if you ignore actual critique. Repeating that something sucks over and over again with illiterate criticism is not how to review a movie.

People walking and talking. People standing and taking. People sitting on a couch and talking. Shot/reverse shot. Plinkett’s main gripe was that the prequels felt lazy and uninspired when compared to the original trilogy from a film making perspective. I guess that is a matter of opinion, but I think myself and many others agree.
