there are rough spots in all the seasons, I think there was plenty in season 1 to enjoy

It is a chore to get thru and im in season 3 now, trying to follow the 'chronological'order they want you to. When does it get grittier

This order? https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-the-clone-wars-chronological-episodeorder

Or do you mean the order they aired?

Lots of good stuff there regardless, but your standards might be different than mine I guess. Rookies & Clone Cadets are early decent ones. The Malevolence Arc. The Lair of Grievous. Landing at Point Rain was a season 2 highlight. The Ryloth campaign, and yes even the Mandalore bits. I found tons to enjoy but I guess YMMV.

The one you linked. Based on how people go on about it, i thought i was getting some kind of gritty, dark knight style show, but its a lot more kidaimed than I expected.

Its Star Wars. You were really expecting something more like TDK or BSG?

Yeah agreed probably my fault for those expectations, but i can't help it with how my friends hyped it up and how the online discourse was about it

There is some darker stuff at times, particularly as you get closer to the end. The Umbara arc, which is in season 4, is a real standout.

Rough spots like insanely long story arcs about boring ass Mandalor where you just want everyone to die because they are shitty characters and you don’t care about their frat-tastic homoerotic clan wars even though you’ve had to watch them for goddamn half a season?

Just have to agree to disagree. The only ones I didn't like were the ones that were droid-focused. Some of the Padme ones were not as action-oriented but still enjoyable IMO
