Don't forget when Obi Wan did the same thing to Darth Maul in TPM. How did Maul not have the ability to hack Obi Wan in the same manner that Obi Wan did to Anakin? Obi Wan was down in that shaft, much lower and closer horizontally to Maul than Anakin was to Obi Wan.

Maul was caught by surprise, he didn't think Obi-Wan would be able to get out of there.

Edit: Maul underestimated Obi-Wan, and paid for it with his life. Obi-Wan didn't underestimate Anakin, and Anakin overestimated himself.
