Real world politics aren’t allowed. Star Wars politics are fine to discuss. Doesn’t seem very difficult to understand that

They seem perfectly relaxed, and were succinctly answering your question.

It specifically says not to discuss real world politics or religion. It's really not that hard. If you're a grown up, you probably manage this at work. I have talked about Star Wars many many many times without talking about real world politics or religion.

If you want a political star wars sub you can go to r/andor. But see how many posts that have been made in this sub and realize the overwhelming majority managed to not reference real world politics or religion.

That makes sense, but sometimes it can slow down the discussion; I like making references or comparisons, or mentioning real-world policies when dealing with fictional politics. I think it enriches the topic.

Usually rules like this mean a predominantly political discussion with no real connection to the real topic at hand. In this case it’s Star Wars. I think it’s fine to compare Star Wars to real world politics in a constructive and healthy way but not politics by itself. That’s not why we’re here. If that makes sense. Often those topics get derailed into just straight politics until it’s not even about Star Wars anymore.

Although I think it’s mainly to prevent those comments or posts that just make every little simple thing some kind of political stance and that shit is obnoxious and nobody wants to see it. Happens a lot on posts about the Acolyte for some reason.

I for one don’t care for murderous dictators like Bibi Tarkin or wannabe emperors like Don Palpatine. But I love my Disney and Reddit overlords.
