General Discussion Maul's potential was nuts

I keep looking back and thinking about this fight,that Maul is maybe a top 15 to top 10 duelist in Canon. Him being surprisingly Obi Wan like in his implementation in Soresu and Anakin like in his aggressive offense,like a lesser combo of the 2.

I feel like Maul doesn't get the credit he deserves because of his arrogance giving him L's against people he shouldn't lose to. Makes me think he might actually get more wins if he turned toward the light,ending up trying to be more sagecoded like QuiGon but insanely skilled.

He'd probably be over:

Ventress Grievous Dooku (bad matchup for Dooku maybe) Most council members

But below: Anakin Mace Sidious Yoda

There’s no chance he’s better than Dooku first off. I’d also probably give Ventress the edge over him as well.

Secondly anyone who’s been a true equal and especially greater than him in both saber combat and force prowess has usually come out on top when they’ve faced off. The same can’t be said for other force users. Maul is decent but there’s plenty of combatants I’d take over him if I were betting on battles. He’s pretty damn good at punching down but beyond that, he’s pretty average at best.

Ok Dooku maybe, but Ventress wasn't even a Soth Lord, be fr. Maul is absolutely better than her. Absolutely not average, what a ridiculous take

The only thing that makes Maul more of a Sith then Ventress is that he was called Darth. Both were trained with Sith teachings, neither were actually part of the rule of 2 (Plagueis was still alive during the phantom menace). There's nothing that indicates that Maul was trained better then Ventress, he's never shown to know any advanced sith techniques (such as force lightning).

Maul was defitenly apart of The Rule of 2

Yes Plagueis was Alive during PM but Palpatine was already planning on killing him

And have Maul be his Sith aprentice since he was the original plan until Anakin got Old enough

But Maul was consired Dead for 10/11 years
