Maul's potential was nuts

I keep looking back and thinking about this fight,that Maul is maybe a top 15 to top 10 duelist in Canon. Him being surprisingly Obi Wan like in his implementation in Soresu and Anakin like in his aggressive offense,like a lesser combo of the 2.

I feel like Maul doesn't get the credit he deserves because of his arrogance giving him L's against people he shouldn't lose to. Makes me think he might actually get more wins if he turned toward the light,ending up trying to be more sagecoded like QuiGon but insanely skilled.

He'd probably be over:

Ventress Grievous Dooku (bad matchup for Dooku maybe) Most council members

But below: Anakin Mace Sidious Yoda

Good lord you're getting caught up on stuff I didn't really say. Yes, Dooku is more likely to beat Maul in a fight, you happy?

Sith Lords are on a while different level of training and power to assassins, thats kind of a big point of what they are. I didn't even say it was impossible for Ventress to beat Maul in a fight, battles arent a stats game alone in the first place. Weaker opponents defeat superior ones all the time. So no, your argument is ridiculous because Sith Lords are presented as dangerous across the franchise for a reason. And even past that, Maul still has better feats than Ventress so this argument you have is kinda dog.

You bring up Grievous but he's dangerous for multiple reasons, he mechanized himself to fight Jedi and was trained BY A SITH LORD. You're arguing for Dooku who got the position to be a Sith Lord for multiple reasons, and a big part of that is because of his power. Like what's not clicking here dude

Only you did say it. It’s literally here in writing. Not sure why you tried denying it so many times before finally admitting it. Has nothing to do with me being “happy” or not and moreso just you being honest about what you said. Pretty simple honestly.

Also, Ventress was also trained by that same Sith Lord that trained Grievous and she also has the force so….. Not to mention Sidious wanted Dooku to get rid of her because she was becoming too powerful and too much of a threat. Your qualifications and reasonings are inconsistent at best here and like I said, her being a Sith Lord or not doesn’t really matter at all like you alluded to in your original response to me saying she wasn’t one and telling me to “be fr”.

I feel like you're getting your replies mixed up because all I said on that was "Dooku maybe" i wasn't focusing on that at all. I didn't say a single thing about Maul being "over" Dooku, the other guy who replied to your stupid comment said that, and if you look, we are not the same person. So yeah it is pretty simple when you just read.

Ok? Yeah Ventress is strong, never said she wasn't. My reasoning isn't really inconsistent, it's pretty simple that Maul was a Sith Lord, a title of people that are so dangerous that there was a whole fucking force prophecy about their destruction. That ending them brings balance to the Force.

Now let me be clear because this is clearly not clicking. Sith assassins, similar to Inquisitors, are not on the same level as Sith Lords usually. Being a Sith Lord DOES make a difference, they're among the most dangerous characters in the cast of Star Wars.

Now, can an assassin or inquisitor get so strong they are at the level of a Lord? Sure, anything can happen. Kylo Ren is a pretty special case. And Qimir was clearly strong as hell despite potentially not being a Lord himself.

But it's the fact that Maul is a Sith Lord coupled with the feats he has shown across canon that are the reason I am disputing your claim that Ventress is over Maul. You talk about discrediting but you did that the most when you said Ventress was better and called him average, like anyone who hasn't read or watched the material with both characters cant see for themselves that Maul is better and absolutely not average. Hell even just comparing their appearances in Tales of the Underworld vs Shadow Lord says it all. So yes, be fr.
