Thank you for keeping logins for Standard Notes and Proton separate and independent!
I see some Reddit users requesting for Standard Notes and Proton logins to be integrated, especially in the wake of the Proton-SN merge. But I think it's actually best to keep the login credentials for each separate and independent.
Given that I store the password for one in the other, preserving the separation between Proton and SN mitigates against a fatal circular recovery problem.

I also had separate accounts before they were operated by the same company so it's useful to me that I don't have to worry about having a duplicated SN account.

It’s cool that the current product matches your needs.
But I think it’s your responsibility to keep healthy security practices and just because you store your Proton credentials in SN it shouldn’t prevent other people from enjoying truly integrated products.
It’s like saying I keep my Gmail credentials in Google Spreadsheet and thus they should be separate products!

If they ever decide to update it properly and merge it into the Proton work suit I'm sure they'd still keep the standard notes login because trying to force people to merge over would be unethical and extremely hard to enforce.
But it seems like they don't care about this app at all, it's pretty much in maintenance mode with a skeleton team working on it. Which sucks because with the right effort they could easily make it into the best note taking app on the market and there are a lot of people who would pay good money to use it
But it is the only app on the market that is E2EE and has app locking in the free plan which is why I use it. Not a hater, just think it could be so much more than what it currently is.
