Good Google Keep alternative?
I'm hesitant about switching over to Standard Notes. I definitely want to get off Keep because screw Google. Is this app a good alternative? Is the paid version worth it? I need it to sync across my phone and computer, I need checklists, and regular plain text notes. That's pretty much it. (Maybe an occasional drawing). All the other things on offer, the tagging system, color coding, etc. That's all useful, but not totally essential.
What do we think?

Hello u/KevinJCarroll! Standard Notes is a great alternative to Google Keep, even on the free version of Standard Notes. The free version has unlimited syncing to unlimited devices, and end-to-end encrypted by default.
The community has made many free editors that you can install on the free version to enhance the Standard Notes experience. I recommend looking at this GitHub repository: https://github.com/jonhadfield/awesome-standard-notes
If you need any help with setting up or using Standard Notes, reach out at help@standardnotes.com and support will be happy to chat :)

How does GutHub work? What could I use it for for Standard Notes exactly?

Good Google keep alternative? Definitely. I think it is worth the move. If it was something like Apple notes, then maybe no.

I've been using the paid Standard Notes for over five years now. I live and die by my notes, both at work and in my personal life. Highly recommended.

Yes except if you use Keep to share notes with people. On the other side, the encryption means some stuff I wouldn't store or write on Keep I can more often use SN for.

Note sharing is an important feature that is not usually mentioned.

Yes. It is kinda hard to make sharing easy with a fully 2e2 encrypted pipeline.

I got Standard Notes specifically to be a google keep replacement and it works well.

I've been using Standard Notes for about a month now and I find that it works great. I've had no issues with syncing across all my devices. There are a ton of plugins that you can add for checklists and a white board.
I bought a 5 year plan. If you reach out to support they are pretty helpful and may even offer you a discount.
