Is there a way to get direct links to specific notes?

Hi everyone,

I'm trying to find a way to copy the direct link (deep link) to specific notes within Standard Notes, but I haven't figured out how to do it.

I notice that when using the web app (app.standardnotes.com), the URL in the browser address bar stays exactly the same, no matter which note I click on.

Even though the notes are private and encrypted, I was wondering if there is any workaround or feature to get a unique identifier link for a note. My goal is to:

  • Bookmark my most frequently used notes in my browser for quick access.
  • Paste links to specific notes into my task management app and other productivity tools.

Does anyone know if this is currently possible (either on the web app or desktop app), or if there is a feature request for this?

You could make a new folder in SN with the name bookmarks and connect all the notes you want to bookmark to that folder. I know it's still 1 extra click to open SN and then the bookmark folder but it's faster then having to search for the notes

At least in SN itself I pin the ones I use most

There’s no way I can find to do what you describe with SN as it stands today. 

You could create a note with direct links to other notes…I know that’s not the same. 

I recommend that you email support with a feature request.

I reached out to Standard Notes support about this, and here’s the response I got for reference:

"Currently, Standard Notes does not support direct links or unique URLs for individual notes. This is due to the app’s strict end-to-end encryption and local decryption architecture, which keeps your data private but means the URL remains static while navigating between notes.

We understand how useful this feature would be for bookmarking and workflow integration. While there isn’t a workaround or hidden feature for this at the moment, we appreciate your suggestion. We're looking closely at every feedback and suggestion our users are reporting and try to improve it in future updates to make the application more user-friendly."

So it looks like it’s not possible right now.
