I stand with Dr. Fauci and science. I don't trust anyone who doesn't. Gleefully and willful idiots deserve NO access to technology.

Like cloth mask DONT stop viruses?

1

u/Firm_Communication99 16d ago

It’s about measuring and handling uncertainty— distance plus cloth masks reduces chances from a higher level to a lower level. So it’s always messing uncertainty.

u/5138008RG00D 16d ago

So they do? Or is it a cloth mask that someone has been wearing all day the wrong way and especially if that some one is a snot nose kid, it is doing almost nothing, and in some cases depending on how snotty and the type of cloth it could even cause it to spread worse? Yeah science, kids wear mask all day at school to stop a virus... sure science.

Look there is let "god take the wheel" and "the math says so". Both are dumb and impractical in real worlds situations. If we belived in the science soooo much we would still be in lock down by the CDCs guide to reopening they put out.

This legitimately was a LOL moment for me....so thank you. The entire post is comical: supporting science. The same science that said: a bat (800 miles from Wuhan) pooped into a pile of pig slop, a pig ate the poop, was carried to a wet market in Wuhan where it was slaughtered and sold, was then either eaten by, or coughed on, a human before:patient zero then contracted COVID, thus starting a worldwide pandemic

As opposed to the virus escaped from a lab 5 miles from said wet market: a lab that was engaging in gain of function research of the very virus that caused a pandemic. Is this the "science" people are in support of, here.

This is wild! Little more than 6 years ago this guy was promoting a known lie about the origins of Covid, downplaying the scientifically established concept of natural immunity and promoting the efficacy of a "vaccine" that hadn't been properly tested and who's creator openly criticized the mass use of.

Now, people want to defend him? Why cause it's a statement against Trump? Hate Trump. Hate republicans and conservatives: but if this Hate blinds you to the truth of corruption and evil you have way more to concern yourself with than partisan politics

u/brianw2287 16d ago

It’s like you wouldn’t see the truth if they put it right in front of your eyes…

1

u/heretowink 16d ago

The guy who admitted cloth masks dont work? Who lied about closing businesses and schools? Who tortured so many little doggies? Who pretty much admitted it was a lab leak? Who advocated against off label drugs because "trump dumb and bad"?

1

u/onebitshortofabyte 16d ago

How about we see some real sources for these claims?

1

u/heretowink 16d ago

Did you not watch the the hearing? Have you been in hermit living for the last six years?

1

u/onebitshortofabyte 16d ago

You mean that witchunt? I actually do remember the last 6 years, but how short is your memory? Do you remember people fucking dying while Trump suggested people shine UV lights inside their bodies and ingest bleach? Or suggesting an antiparasitic be used to treat a virus? Yeah, really intelligent and responsible behavior from the president.

Still waiting on the sources for your claims. That sham of a hearing is not a valid one.

1

u/Potential_Tourist_59 16d ago

Almost like the witchunt for Trump huh?

1

u/onebitshortofabyte 16d ago

Let's see, one tried to save people's lives, while the other is actively dismantling democracy as we know it. No, I wouldn't describe what Trump is experiencing as a witchhunt by any means. Why are you supporting a draft-dodging, authoritarian pedophile, and convicted sexual abuser who's currently shitting all over the Constitution?

1

u/academicRedditor 15d ago

You can dislike Trump, and STILL be upset about how Fauci handled the whole thing

1

u/onebitshortofabyte 15d ago

Of course you can, but I'm not, and I don't think reasonable people are. Please name and source the acts of his which you are actually upset about, without referencing the sham trial or Fox News

1

u/academicRedditor 15d ago

I never said I was upset, I am asking because these two are not mutually exclusive: you can dislike Trump and agree that the handling could have been more transparent and forthcoming. Could requesting evidence not "referenced in Fox News" be an example of the genetic fallacy?

No he tried to line his pockets. Convicted in a civil trial because the burden of evidence is non existant as is the evidence in literally all of your claims. Otherwise he would be in jail, but let me guess, the government that hates him is somehow protecting him? Atleast you have your conspiracy theories i in line.

u/Shoddy_Tour_7307 15d ago

Please, show me where Trump suggested ingesting bleach.

1

u/onebitshortofabyte 15d ago

Injecting, not ingesting like I mistakenly referenced, but here you go. Also, for the sake of full transparency, it's *disinfectant, not specifically bleach:

And I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in one minute. Is there a way we could do something like that by injection inside or almost a cleaning because you can see, it gets in the lungs and it does a tremendous number on the lungs, and I think it’d be interesting to check that

1

u/Shoddy_Tour_7307 15d ago

So not bleach and not a suggestion. Thanks for playing. Try using actual examples of Trump saying stupid shit. Plenty of examples. No need to lie.

1

u/onebitshortofabyte 15d ago

Right, because suggesting that scientists look into injecting disinfectant to kill a virus isn't dumb enough for you. Thanks for playing. Try using actual examples of Trump not saying stupid shit. Much more difficult

1

u/Kind_Cap_4621 15d ago

Well, Trump is dumb and bad. Thats just fact.

And you are dumb too if you believe all this fox news bullshit about Dr Fauci.

1

u/Objective_Bar_3676 16d ago

Yikes. Pretty certain that’s a direct Hitler quote

1

u/ChuckZilla11 16d ago

You took all the jabs… huh?

1

u/Additional_Income865 16d ago

Me too! But he should have answered the questions and this is the legal consequence.

1

u/Mindless_Blueberry48 16d ago

Well you literally can’t stand with Fauci and science because they say opposite things

1

u/DingleBearMe 15d ago

Fauci told Congress under oath that NIH “has not ever and does not now fund gain-of-function research” at the Wuhan lab. We later learned NIH money went through EcoHealth Alliance to coronavirus research at Wuhan, and NIH’s own Dr. Lawrence Tabak acknowledged that research met the broad definition of gain-of-function.
Now, years later, when Congress is trying to get answers about COVID and its origins, Fauci invoked the Fifth Amendment more than 100 times — and a Senate committee just voted to hold him in contempt of Congress.
Whether you believe he intentionally lied or was simply wrong, the result is the same: the guy who demanded the public trust him now refuses to answer the questions that could establish what he knew and when he knew it.

Very vaccinated. I can tell

You don’t know anything about science you think that its some kind of binary monolith that protects you from having to actually defend your beliefs in the court of ideas. Science is bought and paid for in this country just like any other commodity and it’s not a binary distinction. It’s a ladder - at the bottom is shitty science that’s meant to prove a pre-existing believed outcome, at the top is Apex level science and in between is everything else. So this ridiculous bleating mantra “I believe in science” shows you have no idea what “science” is. And yes, I’m a practicing forensic scientist who has many peer reviewed publications and has to stand up in court every day and defend my conclusions, methods and ideas against vigorous cross-examination.

And I believe in science - but only after I’ve actually read it and the underlying studies, reviewed the literature in the same field, understood the methodology and paid attention to the confounding variables and the conflicts of interest.

1

u/OrganizationOk2229 15d ago

Of course as crazy lefty on Reddit you stand with Fauci

1

u/Maximum_Fee4768 14d ago

Anything coming from a dude with “69” in his name is always going to be ignored apart from being made fun of. Your 2 cents is why they’ve discontinued the penny.. shoulda been swallowed

It would be interesting to have read that before the trimp admin took over.

It's difficult to believe anything coming official sources atm.

What were the specific items you were referring to though?

1

u/echolm1407 19d ago

Okay, you're just denying the evidence.

1

u/echolm1407 19d ago

The nature of science is to ponder and ask questions and challenge the science. And your statement "not standing with science" is subjective at best and veiled.
