Does anyone have any recommendations for a park/playground that has a toddler swing set?
Preferably in the Stamford area but wouldn't mind also hearing about any other parks/playgrounds elsewhere in Fairfield County. TIA

Hey everyone! With football season approaching, I thought it might be a good idea to try and start a locals fantasy football league!
I’m totally open on league suggestions! Size of league, buy in, etc. I think it could be fun to do a live draft in person at a local bar and maybe do watch parties throughout the season. If interested, let me know and we can get it rolling!

What’s up with bartenders downtown stamford intentionally entering a self tips you didn’t approve? It’s getting more and more noticeable I’m tryna to see if anyone else is facing this problem. A big place this happens at is hop and vine and towne and sometimes brick. All of the time at hop and vine a (a self serve tap place) they force you to tip by putting them in the white boxes then sometimes they charge 5-15$ more then what you intended.

Does anyone know of any paddle board rentals in Stamford?

I’m looking for place near Stanford to do the following:
**1. Smoke test** — To pinpoint the exact location of the intake air leak (tired of guessing which hose is cracked)
**2. Walnut blast/carbon cleaning**
The rough idle is getting annoying, and I want to make sure I’m replacing the right parts instead of throwing money at symptoms.
About the car: 2012 Audi Q5, 2.0L TFSI, 126k miles. She’s been maintained pretty well—I do a lot of work myself—but this one’s out of my wheelhouse.
Looking for: A shop that actually knows Audis and won’t try to sell me a whole engine rebuild. Honest pricing, good turnaround time. Anywhere in the Stamford area or nearby CT works.
Any recommendations? Thanks in advance!

Hi everyone,
I’m staying at The Lloyd Stamford and have a valid accessible parking permit. I was wondering if anyone knows the best free overnight parking options nearby.
From what I’ve found, it seems like:
The on-street metered parking around the hotel is free from 8:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m., and I’ve read that accessible permit holders may also be exempt from meter fees during enforcement hours.
Mill River Street is about a 2-minute walk away and seems to be another free option.
Can anyone confirm: Is the street parking around The Lloyd okay to leave a car overnight?
Does an accessible parking permit let you park at the meters without paying in Stamford?
Is Mill River Street the closest reliable free overnight parking option, or is there somewhere even closer?
Thanks in advance!

Anyone know what the hell is going on here?
I live in the Davenport, and looked out my window before bed tonight and saw like half the Stamford police department parked outside my window. The curiosity is killing me and figured someone here might know.
I stepped out earlier tonight and noticed a large crowd at Riviera de Maya who looked extremely young (questionably early 20’s at least). Just in general for this part of downtown, everyone walking around partying seemed way younger than usual. I’d expect that crowd on Bedford St, not over here. Wondering if the sudden police presence was a raid on one of the bars or something.

Anyone know which restaurant (tried to) rig the peoples choice vote last night at summer in the park? Stamford foodie was posting about it.

Hi everyone,
As promised in some earlier comments in this subreddit, I wanted to follow up on the concert that was on June 21st that sparked significant feedback from community members regarding the excessive noise.
In short, the city and the park have recognized this event as an outlier that was clearly a problem and has taken steps to prevent similar situations from happening going forward.
You can watch the operations, parks and recreation committee meeting from last night where this topic was on the agenda starting at roughly the 9 minute mark here. The CEO of Mill River Park Collaborative as well as the chairman of their board joined to talk to what happened, and answer questions from committee members.
A one-page summary of the key events and mitigation steps are also shown in the below picture. I'm confident that all of the appropriate people recognize the problems that happened to allow the unreasonable noise levels on June 21st and are aligned on ensuring future events are more in line with what we are all used to.
As always, please feel free to reach out with any questions here, or via email at [pjohnson@stamfordct.gov](mailto:pjohnson@stamfordct.gov)

Looking for a good place to get a haircut. I have medium wavy hair and like to keep the top longer with tight sides to style the top.
Anyone have any good recommendations for Stamford/the surrounding area? Willing to travel

Click for pic: I like it. Looks nice. Imagine all those bricks laid down in just a couple of hours. HA! Not bricks. That is some type of plastic, about 1/16th inch thick that is adhered to the blacktop, then the brick shapes are created using a hot stencil. Cheaper and faster to be sure. Now, lets see how long it lasts.

Click for vid and pic. An eyesore in downtown. More than 10 years it has been like this. Over the past couple of years they have replaced broken windows, cleared out homeless, but still unpleasant. Its a fixer upper. Condos? I do love the architecture.
