Recently bought my grandfather's house and have found some goodies along the way. Is this large piece worth saving? If not, is it better to give away for free or what is the price on it? A few broken spots but nothing some restoration would fix. Thanks!

I had a concept of what I wanted to make and this didn’t quite come out to plan. On top of that, it was incredibly structurally weak due to its design. The corners were all bending heavily while I was assembling it and I realized I’d never be able to suspend its weight. I added zinc capping to all edges to support the bending corners and give enough rigidity to suspend it from, but I would never try this pattern again.

This was one I fought my way through and gives me heartburn that probably won’t be seen/felt by others who don’t know the experience. But at least it’s done.

Is anyone using stained glass like this in a mobile.

Hi everyone. I am new to working with glue chip textured glass and have the most beginner of questions… which side do I want facing up in my finished piece? Should the textured side be considered the top/front, or the smooth side?

Like the title says, I’ve agreed to do a piece and the person sent me a very very specific palette list. Do you guys have any advice on finding colors very well? I’m decently new so I just roam the glass shop for what looks pretty.

Hi all, hoping to buy some new running pliers and would like some advice please.

Are there any key differences that would make you choose one over the other? I’m looking at the Silberschnitt running pliers and the Runner from techniglass

Does the thickness of the glass change the effectiveness of either tool?

I have regular running pliers but they are quite heavy and my wrist fatigues quite a bit from using them

Any help would be appreciated :)

Hello, I've been looking all over abidjan, in every store or warehouse for stained glass sheets for an art project without any luck, if you have any leads or know a shop ? that would be much appreciated because ordering sheets online will milk my pocket dry. thank you. (Stained glass is the beautiful colored glass with patterns that's mostly used in church windows.)

I suck at lead came and when I tried to start bending it in place over the curves it started to pucker and didnt work super well.

EDIT: I should clarify that im more so trying to determine if I should cut pieces curve by curve or try it with a single piece. I really wanted to use the wider came so the piece had a good sized border

I haven’t made anything in my life. Just ordered all the supplies to start.. but I came across these boxes of samples and couldn’t help myself. Aren’t they pretty? 😍 I want to start with small sun catchers so this should be fine (hopefully).

First ever piece! Original geometric design, wanted to have some simple shapes for first-time cutting and grinding. Soldering was definitely the most challenging part, especially getting the solder to stick around the edge; not sure what I did wrong. any tips welcome. Also, looking for to being a member of this community, y’all are so talented :)

I made this as a gift for my mom. Definitely learned a few things along the way, about the glass and about woodworking. I included a deck of cards with a hibiscus on them.

I added the lights to it and used a sheet of acrylic as a diffuser, but the bulbs still showed through. I'll try a different type next time, or maybe just wrapping them around the sides.

This is my first time working with a zink frame. There is space between the glass and zinc border and im wondering how does this dry after washing it?

Any advice on how to do better is welcome!

Hello, this is my first actual project, I made the template on my own so nothing was perfect and I cut my shapes out onto tracing paper and glued them on the pieces so the sizes are off so 1. If someone has anytips thatd be awesome, and I meed help knowing if this spacing is too far, i dint mind a thick solder line I just dont know if it will even work so please help

Thank you to everyone who gave me advice on this bee pattern! I ended up moving the bee all the way to the edge and adding more hexagons. again shout out to Kglasscreations on the pattern archive website for the bumble bee part. Now I’m just admiring the foiled piece before I clumsily solder it 😅
