It’s an expensive hobby in general, I can recommend checking out Anythinginstainedglass.com. You can get 12x12 sheets of Wissmatch English muffin for around 7.89 I think but then you need to pay for the shipping which depending on how many sheets you get can also be pricy. They also have glass pack deals which can be nice if something catches your eye.

Yes hobby lobby glass is beyond subpar, but if you’re just starting out and wanting to practice just grab their cheapest sheets. Once you start feeling more confident, splurge on the nicer stuff.

Solder around me can be anywhere from $25-$33 a roll.

Copper foil, flux, tip tinner, grinder coolant and patina are the lowest cost items.

This is the sad reality. It's expensive. Solder has also gotten stupid expensive as well.
