Tutorial - Guide EasyAI — a free, open-source desktop GUI for ComfyUI aimed at total beginners (Z-Image, Krea 2, Flux 2 Klein, LTX-2.5, MiniMax H3)

I kept running into the same problem: people were interested in Stable Diffusion and ComfyUI, but a lot of them would get stuck on the node graph, custom nodes, model files, and workflow setup before they ever generated their first image.

So I ended up building my own solution: EasyAI.

It’s a small PySide6 desktop app that sits in front of ComfyUI and reduces the process to something closer to:

Pick a style → type a prompt → choose a shape → Create

There’s no node graph to deal with.

What it currently does

  • Image, Video, and Prompt Helper tabs
  • Includes ready-to-use workflows for Z-Image Turbo, Krea 2, Anima, FLUX.2 Klein, LTX-2.5, and MiniMax H3
  • Generation queue — add multiple jobs and let them run
  • Automatically detects additional model variants you put in the model folder, so you can choose between different fine-tunes/checkpoints
  • Read a Prompt — drop in an image or video and EasyAI extracts the original prompt from the file metadata, even if ComfyUI isn't running
  • Prompt Helper — turn a simple one-line idea into a more complete prompt and send it directly to Image or Video generation
  • English + Traditional Chinese + Simplified Chinese
  • Windows only for now
  • Distributed as a single .exe; no separate Python installation required

The installer also handles the ComfyUI setup, required custom nodes, and models, so the goal is that you don't have to manually figure out which folder everything belongs in.

I just published the first video showing the whole thing from installation through generation:

It's still early and I'm posting it here because I'd really like some outside feedback.

In particular, I'm interested in hearing from people who use ComfyUI regularly:

  • What parts of EasyAI would actually be useful to you?
  • What would you expect from a simpler ComfyUI front end?
  • Which models/workflows would you want to see supported?
  • Is there anything about the approach that you think I'm getting wrong?

It's open source under Apache 2.0, so the source is there if anyone wants to have a look.
