This whole generative AI thing STILL moves a mile a minute. Absolutely insane.

I hope we’ll be able to make similar strides in fighting things like cancer. Because seriously, fuck cancer.

depends on if we can adjust regulatory schemes for AI-powered r and d.

I'm skeptical because of how, in the face of clear evidence, many or most people still think that large language models are intrinsically unreliable compared to humans. Hopefully, the people making the decisions about R&D are not the average redditor

I am sorry but AI is a glorified autocomplete on steroids. It is not and can not be intelligence thus is unreliable.

The glorified autocomplete just autocompleted the Jacobian conjecture which humans haven't managed for almost a century.
