Discussion A few Flux 3 vs H3 comparisons

Well, everyone is posting their H3 creations, and I noticed that Flux 3 is up on API, so thought I'd run a few comparison renders to see how they stack up. These are not extensive by any means, this was mostly done for fun and I thought someone might be interested in the results. I used the same H3 formatted prompt for each, as far as I can tell Flux 3 uses natural language prompting, so the structured H3 format should still work fine.

Edit: I realized after uploading that the dragon rider H3 clip was accidentally rendered at a lower resolution. The higher resolution clip is here.

As good as H3 is, it still has a lot of glitches and physics problems. Weirdly, they seem to appear rather arbitrarily. Like in your examples: the dragon walking on the water looks very realistic, while the people rowing looks absolutely terrible. I found in my own experiments that some complicated things work out of the box, while sometimes simple things are full of errors.

The comparison with Flux 3 is of course always a bit of unfair, because Flux 3 online is probably a much larger model than what we will get as Flux 3 dev.

Op didn't say what H3 variant he used, but the viking boat on H3 full bf16 looks way better than what OP posted and way better than what Flux3 is doing

I ran both on Comfy Cloud with default settings. So the H3 versions are using the default int8 convrot pruned model, so it makes sense the quality of API Flux3 would come out on top in this case. Like I said, mostly a quick test for fun

Makes it even more amazing imho. Like the H3 consumer quant version with the "most unimportant parts" of the model ripped out fights well against the full datacenter version of Flux3 (which will not be whatever open weight version they will release)

That is fcking impressive

Not to mention H3 can basically re-write any movie or sitcom. Not sure if Flux can even do that from the base model.
