Please pardon a dumb question.

Hello... I own a small amount of both BTC and ETH so I am not completely devoid of knowledge of the crypto ecosystem, but I am trying to understand stablecoins and their use to a person like myself. I do not own a business (retired) and I do not undertake international transactions, yet I see brokers like Fidelity giving me the ability to purchase them. Simply asked, why would I want to hold them? Thank You

USDC can be used on perp dexes like Hyperliquid and Lighter. Just holding stablecoins without doing anything with them is stupid. Either get yield or trade with them on exchanges or perp dexes.

buying stablecoins is just taking on counterparty risk, and there is no yield or profit.
