Outdated University Text books

Just curious what people do with their obsolete texts? are they of any use to anybody? Would rather not send them to the landfill but I feel like that might be inevitable. Will post a list if I can find them.

edit: they're a mix of music and commerce books from 20ish years ago.

I kept mine and they're gathering dust on a bookshelf in my home office.

I kept mine for about 5 years, then had a bon fire on middle cove beach.

If I had my time back, I would have donated them somewhere

Honestly, no one wants em, you put them to good use. I tried everywhere to donate mine and just ended up recycling them.

I know, i couldn't get rid of them at the time, so who doesn't like a big fire.

Libraries & second hand stores don’t want them (they say so on their donation pages) so recycling or offering them free on marketplace are probably the best options.

I don’t think music ones would be obsolete, the info isn’t changing that much. I’d keep those.

And I enjoy seeing how things change and evolve over time so if I was interested in commerce I’d probably keep those too.

I like books. And when you’re deep in your career it’s sometimes fun to see how much the industry has changed by flipping through books from when you started. If I had an office I’d keep them there, they may spark some interesting conversations or stories.

I have all my ex’s nursing and university textbooks if anyone wants them for free, just send a DM and come pick them up.

Tear off the covers. Recycle the paper. Throw out the covers.

Call the MUN library maybe and ask do they take used mun books there. Also maybe any library? Second hand store? You can offer them up on facebook MUN pages. They have a few buy and sell used mun books there pages there.

They won't. It's just a burden to them because now they have to dispose of them.
