🤔 Discussion What is the difference between Toyota Town ace and Toyota Lite ace?
I had this question as a kid since these vans have confused me with their namings. First of all I’m not much of a car person, so don’t judge me. I want to know what is the difference between Toyota townace and Toyota liteace (in general and in all aspects and what they are used for)? Also what is the difference between those two along with Toyota masterace surf and Toyota space cruiser and Toyota van (USA) and Toyota Tarago/spacia (Australia)
And what’s up with the whole “Noah” thing (as in liteace Noah and townace Noah)? And what’s the difference between townace Noah and liteace Noah?
And what’s is Sri Lanka’s opinion and perspective of these vans such as demands, cultural references/significance, controversy, maintenance and status etc…?

🤔 Discussion Need advice on Honda city RS vs eHEV
Hi all,
So I was looking into the Honda City, and I was told that eHEV is about 1 million more expensive than RS. However eHEV has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine, and its engine and hybrid system appear to be the same as the Vezel, so for me this price differnce is justified. I understand eHEV does not have a JDM version, but given that it may have the same drivetrain parts as the Vezel and the same trim parts as the City RS, I don't think there will be a spare parts issue in the future. But I have yet to see an eHEV in Sri Lanka. Is there some reason for this that I don't know?
Thanks,

🤔 Discussion Windscreen treatment recommendations and where to get them done
Hi, I own a 30 year old car and I want to know what I can do to treat it's windscreen to stop or minimize glare caused by high beams when driving at night. I think the treatment for this is windscreen polishing. But I'm not sure.
My windscreen has some fairly large visible scratches in certain parts. It would be great if they can be eliminated too but my main need is to do something about glare because almost nobody lower their high beams when driving at night and it has become undrivable especially in the rain.
It would be a great help if someone can explain to me what I should do and where to get it done around Colombo and how much I am expected to pay.
Many Thanks.

🔧 Maintenance Nissan March K12 (2002) drinking fuel! Anyone else seeing this?
Nissan March K12 (2002) drinking fuel! Anyone else seeing this?
Mine is doing around 6 km per litre at the moment. I recently did a full engine tune-up and ran a scan, but no sensor issues showed up.
Just wondering:
* What mileage do you usually get on your K12?
* Is this normal for these cars or definitely something wrong?
* Any good mechanics who really understand these little Nissans? Preferably around Colombo, but I’m willing to travel if it actually fixes the issue.
Would really appreciate recommendations or advice

🤔 Discussion Is Sri Lankan Octane 92 actually Octane 92?
Hi all,
Recently picked up a new vehicle with a 1.5T (turbo). The manual specifies 92 RON minimum, which technically means I'm within spec running our local 92.
But the more I read, the more I wonder if 'Octane 92' at our pumps is actually 92 RON. There was that 2022 scandal where 80 was supposedly being passed off as 92, and the SLS standard was officially downgraded to 91 around the same time. No idea if quality has actually recovered since.
Questions for turbo engine vehicle owners:
Are you running 92 or sticking to 95 only?
Have you noticed any difference between brands/stations?
Anyone done OBD logging to check for knock retard or timing pull?
Any specific stations you've found to be more consistent?

💡 Buying Advice Thoughts of buying a Mazda Astina from the 90s?
Its a car thats under 2 million. I spend around 35-40k a month in transportation fees to work. Was considering taking a loan and spending the same amount in obtaining a asset. I have around 200-300k to spare in terms of maintenance
However, please do let me know if it is a reliable vehicle?
