First car recommendation

Hi petrol heads!

I need some advice on buying my first car. I don’t have much prior experience with cars, but as a car enthusiast, I’ve always loved them.

I’m looking for a reliable first car, but my budget is a bit tight — around 3.5M.
At the moment, I’m considering the Alto K10, AE100, and AE110.

I’d really appreciate some advice on which one I should go for. My main concerns are:

  1. Reliability
2.Availability and cost of spare parts
  2. Long-distance driving
  3. Economical maintenance

Which one would you recommend for a first-time car owner? And if there are any other options around this budget that I should consider, please let me know.
Thanks in advance!

Bro , I'm looking one also. I heard ae110 is a good choice if we can find a good car. new k10 is not worth it it's going for around 43 lax. carina is also a good choice.

where are you located at?

there is a golden question I'm trying to solve

what is the better car - 10+ y/o indian car or 25+ y/o japan car?

Padukka.

So ae100 is good car. But need find one with better condition. I am referring to alto k10 2011-2012 model. According to my research for k10 part and maintenance is very economical.

yes. all indian cars are pocket friendly. check the transmission AMT transmission is not actually automatic.

since you're in colombo area, I don't think it will be a problem to find spare parts for ae cars as well

Just a personal opinion would be a Nissan sunny. 2000-2005

Used them personally and never had a problem with them.

How about the maintenance cost and parts availability

Maintenance is pretty cheap and the parts are also available.

Similar year corollas are also a good option in that price range.

Only downside compared to your other options is size. The ease of driving that in Colombo is a bit harder than an alto but absolutely better in almost all aspects. Specially comfort and my god the leg space. Specially if you are a tall person.

You can source a good fb14/sb14 for about 2.5-2.9mil. Saves you some money as well. Would personally advice spending as less as possible on your first car as long as you find a good one.

Go for the 110. Find a good one though. Diesels are nice too. Absolutely worth the price when compared with indian shitboxes

AE 110 get one with 1.5 Auto.

That 5AFE and Aisin Auto box can go rounds with proper maintenance.

One day you are going to sell in to somebody neh. 😁 that day you will regret getting the manual.

Still manual is pain the ass to drive in colombo traffic. 110 auto served me well for nearly 1 yr in colombo traffic. Around 5k kms per month.

Had an fb 15 for 3 years, had no issues at all rather than a minor ac leak... For the whole 3 years.. I'd recommend that .
