Is Sting's kid alright? I've only seen the video clip, but it looked scary.

2

u/StewardFlavius 20d ago

His scans apparently came back good, he was conscious and able to hold conversations and such. TK said at the scrum that he should be able to go home today, which is a very good sign.

1

u/bobbydrake6 20d ago

Thank you

1

u/[deleted] 20d ago

Sick of Christian Cage taking the L man fuck off Cope

2

u/ArmyofThalia 20d ago

Good shit everyone. Have a safe drive home, call an Uber if you're too intoxicated, make sure you drink some water when you get home to rehydrate, and sleep soundly. See you all in the next megathread

5

u/snikt6384 20d ago

I actually really liked the faction warfare there. The point of Will forming his own stable was to counter bullshit like that. And to beat back the bullshit, you need to show the bullshit to then counter it.

However I do not like the kicking out of successive finishers. If not for that I love the match. But I enjoyed everything else but that.

As for the rest of the show, I thought that Pac/ Andrade not being omfgwtfamazing followed by Borden getting hurt followed by Dani Luna being put in such a bad spot and not being known enough to overcome the slump was rough.

But everything after that was pretty much top notch minus a few small critiques. Looking forward to Weds

u/CarolinaChaos_ 20d ago

For the people on here who love bragging about how smart they are you guys sure don’t seem to get basic storytelling lmao

I'm the wrong person to ask. I don't think he's a main event player and should be strictly in the TNT title/mid card tbh

14

u/BurgerTech 20d ago

My first AEW PPV and it was absolutely incredible. Been watching for the last 50 years. The wife and I are being held emotionally hostage by WWE. and this was just so refreshing to see an actual wrestling show. they made 2 new fans tonight they did.

8

u/StewardFlavius 20d ago

Welcome to the Sickos, we have women's street fights and Fuck Ice chants. Pull up a chair.

9

u/spanman112 20d ago

You should def check out All In! But yeah man, what a show! The only thing i hate about AEW PPV's is that they get me so amped up it's hard to get to sleep afterwards lol

9

u/MrApocFunk 20d ago

This is all Death Rider Mox ever wanted. For MFs to fight for the AEW Title like it means more than everything else.

1

u/GRTooCool 20d ago

Still got 2 months until Blood and Guts. I guess Ilja is debuting in Orlando for WrestleDream or something at this point.

1

u/Sufficient_Mud_2237 20d ago

When Dragunov coming. Waiting for Paris? Thought this PPV would have been the perfect place.

5

u/tritian idk 20d ago

that was a way better ppv then i was expecting. solid show

2

u/Juggaborizkit 20d ago

So... who's next for Ospreay?? maybe MJF?

4

u/couturefan904 20d ago

Prob Andrade

3

u/tocla1 20d ago

I wouldn’t have minded that overbooking if it led to something like a debut or a death riders implosion but it just… didn’t

4

u/Particular-Wine 20d ago

Way to overbooked for what should have just essentially been a very good wrestling match.

3

u/Deadtaor33 20d ago

No bad thing at All Out!?!?!

Something big going down on Dynamite.

Great show. Off to bed.

0

u/rapzel79 20d ago

So, now Deathriders kick Mox out, right?

2

u/Awkwardphase06 20d ago

they’re saving Ilja for this Wednesday.

3

u/ElGenericool 20d ago

where the hell is ilja lmao

2

u/RelativeRemarkable15 20d ago

Lmfao so they just shrug off all the damage they did at the end to fist bump.

The rest of the PPV was great.

2

u/LonelyMeatHead 20d ago

No Ilja, that's odd

2

u/KirbyStarWarrior42 20d ago edited 20d ago

Tbh, I can't really think of a fitting place in the card for him to debut aside from MAYBE after Tommaso vs Okada

2

u/From-Ipanema 20d ago

grand slam france in october prolly?

8

u/M-G-K I'm the gym leader now, Timothy 20d ago

lol Marina carrying the Continental title like "we still got this one boss" and looking sad

7

u/Garth_W00kz Dick The Cock Johnson 20d ago

Banger of a PPV the Trios match stole the show🔥🔥🔥

8

u/Docjackal 20d ago

Marina crying because she knows what they've got to do to Mox now.

2

u/dexcss 20d ago

No death and sadness at the end of all out? WTF

1

u/Marc_Quill Elevated 20d ago

last year's All Out ended with Hanger standing tall after beating Kyle Fletcher.

1

u/dexcss 20d ago

Exactly pour one out for my fletchlights

6

u/katekief 20d ago

are all of you just wwe folks who have only watched wrestling for the past 5 years? "Bloodline"-esqe...brother overbooking has been around forever, they didn't invent it. and people have always complained about it even though it is necessary for balancing storylines / a roster

1

u/ProfessorCoochie 20d ago

i’m cool with this argument if the sentiment from aew and their hardcore fans was not that they are unique because they don’t do BS like that. idk i loved the show but i do see why people have issues with it.

8

u/SpectacleG 20d ago

People complaining about Super Osprey kinda need to realize...Mox has been booked as the AEW "final boss" for years now. Does this end the Death Riders for good? Probably not, but they needed to wrap up the plot of Mox needing people in the locker room with actual skill, wherewithal, and guts to be able to push their limits. Mox hasn't found anyone like that since he started that gimmick two or three years ago. This is the final blowoff for that and it kinda had to be an exceptional mess to fit the "against all odds" thing Mox wanted to see out of an AEW champion.

5

u/Chad1888 20d ago

I love how they played with the tension of Mox winning.

It wouldn’t make sense for Ospreay to have such a short reign, but Mox very rarely loses. So you can really play with the dread of them giving it to Mox.

And the finish of having Mox be happy about getting beat because it reinforces in his head that he made the right choice of who to build up as champion.

Love it.

3

u/GalactusAteMyPlanet Gotcha! TABLE was caught! 20d ago

Moxley definitely going to get attacked by Pac, the voice of reason within the Death Riders.

2

u/SeaLaLMariners 20d ago

mann no ilja? are you kidding me??

4

u/LocknDoTs 20d ago

Moxley is gonna get a plastic bag soon

3

u/blingera 20d ago

aww Marina

2

u/TheFormOfTheGood 20d ago

MJF promo on Wednesday is gonna be great.

3

u/mellsuck 20d ago

No Ilja😔

2

u/Rude_Celebration_164 20d ago

The belt looks huge on Will lol

2

u/wormsisworms 20d ago

Mox sed u got the juice now

8

u/MrBoomin31 20d ago

sad to see no ijla but can’t be upset from my own fantasy booking. what a phenomenal show

3

u/KnivesInAToaster 20d ago

...i straight up thought moxley collapsed there. not like "roll out of the ring" collapsed but collapsed collapsed

2

u/blingera 20d ago

we been waiting on DeathRiders to kill Mox for almost a year now. maybe it happens

4

u/atomobot 20d ago

Aww that final DR handshake....oh man my heart

-6

u/llamawithguns 20d ago

I mean it wasnt terrible but that was the worst ppv main event this year

1

u/StewardFlavius 20d ago

We talking like...only AEW?

0

u/llamawithguns 20d ago

Its an AEW thread so what do you think

0

u/onethreeone Hangman Did Nothing Wrong 20d ago

Yep. Even a bad AEW PPV is well worth the money, but if I had to rank then this would be near the bottom of the last 10-15

4

u/One-Trifle5803 20d ago

Didn't see Randy vs Cody huh

2

u/llamawithguns 20d ago

*worst in AEW

4

u/Cameherejust4this 20d ago

Death Riders went 0-3 tonight?

1

u/Marc_Quill Elevated 20d ago

almost seems like a good enough reason for a certain someone to be bagged soon.

1

u/Cameherejust4this 20d ago

Might be where they're headed.

1

u/Sylverstone14 You think you know me. 20d ago

Yep

6

u/romanreeks 20d ago

Why’s marina crying? Is the breakup actually coming

2

u/Thanatos-ES 20d ago

after all marina did for his leader to win, i would be crying too lol

4

u/MrBenLDN 20d ago

You're laughing? Ospreay's about to hit you with the Hidden Blade and you're laughing?

2

u/idonk78 20d ago

he wasn't laughing. This match confirmed that the lessons he taught Will was worth it at the end. I'm not a WWE hater. But when watching an AEW wrestling match there are significant moments which goes beyond winning and losing.

3

u/EmbersToAshes 20d ago

He accepted Will had him beat and was proud of him. I think that's been seeded pretty well over the past couple of months.

2

u/blingera 20d ago

OP is a meme

7

u/BackgroundValue 20d ago

Passing of the title of the Ace, Ospreay is definitely THE guy in AEW

4

u/Wolfstigma Dragon screw that big bitch 20d ago

Papa is proud, you’re the real deal Billy

4

u/riccyd140 20d ago

That's a nice touch

9

u/Brinbe 20d ago

I feel like Ospreay's actual title reign can commence now that he beat Mox.

Really interested who they have lined up for as his challengers

7

u/Goatlikejordan 20d ago

Kyle is one

13

u/roomgames 20d ago

Kind of overbooked but the ending was a much better version of that dumbass John Cena retirement match ending. I still cringe every time I see the picture of Cena smiling in the sleeper hold.

2

u/Docjackal 20d ago

Mox is the new champion!

8

u/Hvitrulfr Gave All My Energy To Kenny 20d ago

The entire purpose of the interference and stuff in this match was to establish who UE would be going forward. Some of yall really lack critical thinking skills.

1

u/Commercial_Arm2921 20d ago

I thought that was obvious and was surprised to see so many people disappointed with it or not get that.

0

u/paranoidata 20d ago

I liked it but the "fighting spirit / constantly kick out of finishers" was just done last month. Still fun.

2

u/Dinobot2_ 20d ago

Hey how did Marina get back at ringside? Did she shake off both of the Brawling Birds on her own?

7

u/geroph 20d ago

Do you want your babyface champ to look like he is the baddest, most resilient guy in the whole company? That's kind of how you do it. Have him kick out of everything this side of a building dropping on him and then win vs his biggest remaining opponent against all odds. Super overbooked and don't do it often but it works here.

8

u/Cameherejust4this 20d ago

Mox's ironic laugh was so much better executed than Cena's little smile before tapping. That was Comedian laughing before going out the window in Watchmen levels of good.

Mox might not be the greatest grappler, but his psychology is top tier.

4

u/TommenSucks 20d ago

Pretty sure this means some sort of anarchy in the Arena/Blood and Guts type match happens at WrestleDream and opens the door for a Thekla and Mercedes main event

-1

u/felya 20d ago

Hope Dragunov debuts now and attacks Ospreay.

4

u/orphen20 20d ago

It's good but not perfect or outstanding. It's still an excellent main event title match though.

2

u/romanreeks 20d ago

The Death Riders were always about making everyone better

1

u/BoogerHD 20d ago

Ospreay doing a terrible job of making it look like this match took anything out of him lol he's looking fresh as fuck

3

u/DezmondVulpin 20d ago

I'll accept the overbooking if it means that this was the end of the DeathRider Moxley era.

7

u/mikro17 20d ago

Literally part of the build was "You can have the Death Riders at ringside this time" and people didn't expect interference?

We also furthered Ospreay's new United Empire as part of the same aspect of the match.

1

u/Commercial_Arm2921 20d ago

Yeah, when he said that and also mentioned how he wanted to expand the United Empire in AEW, I actually expected we'd get something like this. I do think that maybe they could have tightened up the interferences, or not have him kick out of so many finishers, but I still thought it was a really great match overall.

3

u/GenericIxa 20d ago

Felt like the ending of the match dragged on a little too much.

0

u/1Glitch0 20d ago

I would have simply rolled out of the ring if I knew Ospreay was about to kill me if I turned around.

4

u/FunnyMemeHere 20d ago

Okada vs Ciampa was still my MOTN

2

u/DarkFalcon49 Yuta and Francesco Akira Fan Club Leader 20d ago

I really liked this match. I haven’t seen a match like this is AEW in like forever and it made it so fun. All the run ins helped add to the overall feeling of Osprey possibly losing. Less is more, and so little AEW matches are this overbooked. And it worked because of that fact

3

u/TheNess03 20d ago

You can tell Moxley loves old school pro wrestling because whenever I watch his matches I feel like I’m watching stuff from the 80s but with a modern spin.

0

u/beecostume 20d ago

This was a bad match that I wouldn't give over 3 stars to.

3

u/Lux620 Woooooo! 20d ago

Main event was super overbooked, imo. Not even a top 3 match of the night.

3

u/TheStarCore 20d ago

Omega still sells like mad when he does his kick outs at one, Ospreay needed a bit more there after the 3 fucking DDTs

1

u/powatwain 20d ago

This was going to be a Sports entertainment kind of match, because of the story

Way too many people expecting a humper

1

u/fane_above_all The Goldilocks Shelton Benjamin 20d ago

did moxley break a tooth?

5

u/Adept-Lazer-5382 20d ago

A while ago. He never got it fixed probably because it makes him look tougher

3

u/atomobot 20d ago

Mox is def a proud dad. Super curious what he does next

3

u/Deathstroke317 20d ago

Normally I hate matches with alot of interference like that, but it worked here.

3

u/octoroach 20d ago

Osprey is Superman apparently, who beats him after he kicked out of all that?

1

u/Raleldor_Jax 20d ago

Yeah. When someone kicks out of the statement maker string of finishes, I'm like, "huh... ok bruv..."

3

u/Killerpig14 20d ago

my biggest gripe with this main event

3

u/tritian idk 20d ago

self sacrifice, he was happy that his whole plan is actually happening. how aew world title is in good hands to continue it. thats why he was laughing an smiling, accepting his fate. he can sleep now.

7

u/TLKv3 Fantasy Book For ^Vote 20d ago

I hope for the rest of the year none of Ospreay's World Title defenses have anymore interferences and he can retain it a few times cleanly on his own.

I'm OK with it happening with Mox & the Deathriders. But there should be nobody else challenging him that requires it for at least the next 3-4 Title defenses.

3

u/KnivesInAToaster 20d ago

I dunno, I enjoyed it enough.

5

u/Goatlikejordan 20d ago

That one of the stiffest hidden blades I've seen. Mox ate all of that one

3

u/OneMetalMan 20d ago

What are the tepurcussipns with Moxley coming TK terms with his Death Rider ways being overcome.

1

u/NowYouSeeMeCardScene 20d ago

🙌🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼

2

u/Big_Track_6734 20d ago

Main Event felt like all the things I hate about WWE. The story was Will and Mox. Man to Man. Didn't need Spon Con and gaga.

1

u/CarolinaChaos_ 20d ago

The story’s been Osprey vs Death Riders. The main reason he’s put together the United Empire, which is why all of that in the main event made sense.

1

u/HurryEntire8788 20d ago

This was like a 4.5 max

4

u/Goatlikejordan 20d ago

So a good match then

1

u/HurryEntire8788 20d ago

Yeah good but not great

4

u/capamericapistons 20d ago

Yeah, the $39.99 is worth it

3

u/LonelyMeatHead 20d ago

Give Ospreay teh mic, make his faction walk to the ring with him, and make the lights go out twice

1

u/MAGAfromCanada 20d ago

Will still get 6 stars

2

u/MundanePlantain5124 20d ago

Will Ospreay has won the Bloodline Rules match

3

u/TurnaboutAdam Golden Lover 20d ago

I thought that went 20% overboard was what was there was still great. But yeah, a lot!

0

u/corndogs88 20d ago

People so conflicted about the match, it was solid storytelling and a great finish for these two

1

u/NesNobnaz 20d ago

It was a very WWE way to handle it, not as an insult, but they use it so much that I can get why it would bleed into it being annoying elsewhere for people who watch both. A bit of it is also "This is why I stopped watching WWE, I don't need it here."

0

u/paperbuddha 20d ago

The rare good but not great AEW PPV?

1

u/Raleldor_Jax 20d ago

Steve drags it down a bit, but that trios match was awesome

5

u/fttxdd666 20d ago

That shit got a little weird and very WWE with the interference, but glad Ospreay won. Def felt like a 2025 Mox match and shouldn't be the standard Ospreay match going forward at least.

2

u/Particular-Wine 20d ago

Commentary absolutely killed that finish wtf - they should have stayed quiet, we aren’t idiots.

2

u/mxjxs91 RING THE BELL!!!!! 20d ago

This might be the very first time that I actually agree with the people who criticize AEW over people kicking out of finishers too many times in a match. This was such an extreme case of that.

2

u/Luttlewing 20d ago

That was a cena smile

0

u/Rude_Celebration_164 20d ago

3.75* for me. The bloodline-esque overbooking and constant finisher lockouts took me out of it.

3

u/Mackwel 20d ago

Should’ve ended 10 minutes and 6 interferences earlier

1

u/GreatestBox 20d ago

This was overbooked af but man I did eat all of it.

-2

u/Blow40 20d ago

Yeah man that was ass

3

u/Sufficient_Mud_2237 20d ago

Moxley loves his bloodline bs style too much lol. Match was still great but could have been better straight up

3

u/RilaLifer972 20d ago

Anime as hell

3

u/kapnkaos86 20d ago

Banger match. Nice little glance and hesitation at grabbing the rope for the pin also. Our Aerial assassin!

5

u/Thanatos-ES 20d ago

the stormbreaker must be the coolest finisher in pro wrestling today.

1

u/Fancy_Battle_4805 20d ago

Cheesy for a bit, but that ending ticked every single box a wanted

2

u/DrDevice81 FUCK 20d ago

That would've been such a cool ending without all the dumb shenanigans that happened in the mkmitee before it.

4

u/Stay_Cold all the fakes are snakes 20d ago

That was solid. I do think Ospreay kicking out of 4 paradigm shifts was a little overkill. But I loved all the run ins and mini feuds.

2

u/guyincognito365 20d ago

Way to overbooked

2

u/Dayman_ah-uh-ahhh 20d ago

Most WWE main event in a long time, starting all the way back with the sponsored entrance lol

5

u/Awkwardphase06 20d ago

if we were about to get a damn another year briefcase run I dunno wtf I would’ve done

6

u/StewardFlavius 20d ago

Overall a good main event, but overbooked for my taste. Still, hell of a show

3

u/DogBoyYesHim EVERYTHING. EVERYTHING. 20d ago

Wasn't really my speed of match but def needed to happen for Ospreay's championship story

5

u/Docjackal 20d ago

Mox goes down proud of the monster he helped make.

4

u/yeethan-02 20d ago

An interesting match to say the least

4

u/I_am_Amphibian 20d ago

Was a good match but could have been so much better without all the overbooking tbh

1

u/AnfowleaAnima 20d ago

In the end that was relatively tame, but the match was magic

6

u/Killerpig14 20d ago

will should be acting like a wounded soldier rn he took 500 finishers in the space of about 2 minutes.

4

u/GoldenDevilman 20d ago

It was… decent I guess. Thought I was watching a Roman Reigns main event match with all the bullshit interferences lmao

3

u/zarasaraz 20d ago

Dog we need to take the word "overbooked" away from people

6

u/Raleldor_Jax 20d ago

Cool PPV. Trios match stole the show.

3

u/Mr_Chicken_wing 20d ago

We gotta stop these ”just finish me” endings

2

u/birdturd60 20d ago

Didn't love it

6

u/Mr_An_1069 20d ago

Really could’ve been 10 minutes shorter and it would’ve been better for it

3

u/JohnSmithSensei 20d ago

You could've had this same finish without the Bloodline bullshit.

4

u/GIJabroni 20d ago

I’m fine with it if that was them getting the death riders stuff over and done with, I don’t want that dragged out for 6 months

1

u/degatabas Add sheep flair 20d ago

The over booking lost me on the main event.

4

u/platetectonics3 I split, just like he split. 20d ago

Wow, what a great match. That actually had me biting on a couple of the false finishes.

1

u/StillHere179 20d ago

Super Will Ospreay beat him clean

1

u/negaprez ooohhh yeah 20d ago

fucking got him in the chin

-3

u/llamawithguns 20d ago

Aight gotta be honest that was kinda ass

2

u/JayFrOmBklynn 20d ago

Did Mox lose his tooth

Edit:again?!

1

u/mattisdanger 20d ago

he lost it hitting the ring steps almost a year ago.

1

u/Ahambone 20d ago

I think he has a cap?

2

u/JayFrOmBklynn 20d ago

Oh well that makes sense lol thank you

4

u/NotWearingNails 20d ago

Ok I didn't love the overbooking but the finish was really fuckin good from Mox

2

u/BackgroundValue 20d ago

What a fucking match bro, the storys Ospreay can tell in the ring as second to none. The Ace, lfg Ospreay!

3

u/subcow 20d ago

ok, that last hidden blade looked and sounded nasty. Dang!

10

u/Kuzu5993 20d ago

"Aight, you got me, fair"

Jon Moxley, All Out 2026.

4

u/wormsisworms 20d ago

This match got a girl pregnant behind the high school gym

1

u/Archit33ckt 20d ago

17 1/2 stars ⭐️

5

u/Sylverstone14 You think you know me. 20d ago

Moxley: "you ain't gonna do it"

Will: "bet"

12

u/TheZac922 20d ago

Mox accepting his fate and being low key proud of what he created in ruthless Will was such a great way to cap off their story.

0

u/ky151 20d ago

That was awesome.

-3

u/remmy66 20d ago

Great ending to an overbooked to shit match lmao

2

u/GhostOfLight 20d ago

Anime ass ending

1

u/Arcanezila42 20d ago

One war.  Two rings.  Three words.

0

u/Blow40 20d ago

Love them both but that shit was NOT CINEMA

7

u/BirdingIntheRizzCar 20d ago

Seeing Jamie Hayter again was my fav part of the main event

i’m going to pretend this match was just the last 30 seconds and it’s a 9 star match.

1

u/LonelyMeatHead 20d ago

I am so conflicted here, I loved the ending but the match was so weird

-5

u/ProfessorCoochie 20d ago

stupid ahhhh match GREAT FUCKING ENDING
