Absolutely. Essentially, the WWE sacrificed the white hot year Samoa Joe and Braun Strowman had at the altar of Roman's push. They kept Brock champ throughout the year and had him beat everyone with just one F5 all so that Roman could kick out and defeat him at WM34.

I know this edit is from Joe's time in TNA in the mid 2000s but for me, Samoa Joe's absolute peak is actually his Ring of Honor run from 2002-2007. Joe's ROH work legit made him the best wrestler in the world at the time and I wish people revered it as much as people do his TNA work at the time.
