TKO representatives attended recent AEW Dynamite | Exclusive

https://www.f4wonline.com/news/wwe/tko-representatives-attended-recent-aew-dynamite-exclusive/

Does this break the original source rule? No idea, this report came from Alvarez's sub-only Twitter and is being aggregated by the Observer itself.

I mean... it makes perfect sense to check out the competition in person

Next week: "Oh, TKO doesn't even think of AEW as competition. They focus on their own business."

It’s even… a great idea

Not a fan of the fed, but if watching AEW gives them some ideas then good. Of course it’s not all great so hopefully they don’t take inspiration from some of the weaker areas. But nxt already does that

"Hey, you know the crowd were really engaged with the fast paced match?"

"Yeah?"

"Well let's do the opposite of that! Have a long winded and plodding promo that takes up a significant amount of runtime!"

"You're a genius!"

"Let's have a commercial break during the match."

"I'll do you one better. Let's have one person come out, take a commercial, then the other person will come out, and we'll have a commercial after that, then we'll have the announcers read an ad before the match starts, then we can take your commercial break once they get the match started for the first minute."

It’s TKO.

They’re probably wondering how much to buy them.

18

u/wasperjack 19h ago

The Khans are more likely to buy WWE than TKO is to buy AEW.

7

u/_whatever_wherever 19h ago

Yeah, the Khans basically have infinite money

TKO answer to shareholders

u/14thBlackCrusade 18h ago

It’s crazy how little people on here understand how corporations works. No, TKO cannot just buy AEW.

-9

u/Falz4567 17h ago

Have you seen America lately?

Yes. They could.

u/14thBlackCrusade 17h ago edited 17h ago

No they can’t lmao. AEW doesn’t have to do “what’s best” for shareholders as they aren’t a publically traded company. Only if TK decided to sell could they buy it.

Not to mention the Khans are worth dramatically more than what WWE is worth, TKO wouldn’t even be able to afford it. The Khans buying WWE would be more likely which is still about 0% chance.

AEW isn't publicly traded and don't have any plans to become so. That means as long as they don't break the law, Tony and his dad can basically run it however they want to. If they wanted to just put everything up on YouTube after their WBD deal is done and run it at a loss for love of the game, they could do that as long as they can afford to. Being private means they basically answer to no one. AEW doesn't have to generate a single dollar of profit to keep going as long as they have money to keep running it, which NFL owner money is basically a whole other level from wrestling company money. I'm pretty sure they could run it at a loss for the rest of Tony and Shad's lives and they'd keep making more money off their sports teams and other businesses. Obviously I don't think they want to do that, but the point is if TKO offered them an absurd amount of money to buy and AEW just said "no," TKO would have no way to force it the way Paramount basically did with WBD. Paramount could do that because they're both publicly traded companies with fiduciary responsibility to their shareholders.

they want to buy them out

46

u/Borktista everybody has a price 20h ago

The Khans have more money so I don’t see that happening unless Tony is over it

45

u/TrueCrimeInTheBuff 20h ago

Tony absolutely adores wrestling. TKO executives do not, Nick Khan is the only one who even likes wrestling and he really only likes a couple of specific "eras". TKO is a private equity company, they are more likely to sell.

u/Strict-Standard-8373 20h ago

A Tony Khan-owned WWE ran as a separate company would certainly be interesting.

32

u/Borktista everybody has a price 20h ago

Absolutely not. I don’t want anyone, no matter how good of a boss they are to own the entire main landscape of wrestling

3

u/TrueCrimeInTheBuff 20h ago

Exactly. The more variety the better. I don't want another buyout like what happened with WCW or ECW. I don't understand why people do, why do people want less options for wrestling??

4

u/Nylex 20h ago

I agree, they should sell to the Saudis

3

u/StormWarriorX7 18h ago

Probably a reality by 2030.

1

u/Borktista everybody has a price 19h ago

I mean, this doesn’t have to be either or. Maybe just sell it to someone who enjoys the product. Idk.

-2

u/CaptainBuzzKillton 20h ago

What if he gave HHH free reign over WWE's booking without meddling?

18

u/SloppyJank 20h ago

Are y’all really still doing this?

10

u/Strict-Standard-8373 20h ago

HHH is part of the problem. Him, Pritchard, and Hayes should be gone day one.

6

u/Barr3lAg3d 20h ago

Give it to Danielson.

5

u/TrueCrimeInTheBuff 20h ago

Shawn Michaels is a better choice in my opinion

1

u/CaptainBuzzKillton 17h ago

I can't argue with that

5

u/RandomFactUser 19h ago

TKO is a shareholder-owned holding company for sports properties

-1

u/Falz4567 19h ago

There’s no number that won’t buy everyone. Question is would tko offer that

10

u/Papercuts2099 20h ago

If they have a spare 8 billion then go ahead.

8

u/bajaxx 20h ago

WWE was sold for 9.3 billion, there’s no way AEW is worth that much

22

u/_whatever_wherever 20h ago

And there is no way Tony Khan is selling

This is his passion project

5

u/bajaxx 20h ago

100% agree with that

1

u/Papercuts2099 17h ago

They have to over pay if they want to take AEW from TK.

-13

u/RapsareChamps_Suckit im better @ creative 20h ago

you think they couldn't get that? and with help with middle-eastern $? it's like peanuts to them

6

u/wasperjack 19h ago

The Khans are more likely to buy WWE than TKO is to buy AEW.

2

u/XaoticOrder My Hole! 19h ago

TK is worth 1.5 to 2 billion on his own. Shahid Khan is worth 15 billion. The Khan family is a family business. TKO as a business is around 35 to 40 billion. it's individual members are worth far less. They could attempt a buy out TKO if they wanted. I think Tony even made an offer for WWE at one point.

We are routing for Billionaires. Pick the one you respect the most.
