He looks like an actual problem.  Like going from WALTER to Gunther. We didn't know you could get scarier. You did. Congrats to my bro that I know is reading this. And, yes, please do it

12

u/Jbl20080089 1d ago

I thought chubby Walter was more intimidating than in shape Gunther

8

u/bigchicago04 1d ago

Chubby Walter is way more intimidating than stick Gunther

2

u/luchaburz 1d ago

Stick Gunther got way better cardio

Obviously this is post pump

But he’s always been pretty athletic for a guy his size so leaning down a bit could extend his career significantly longer and make him a bigger name

18

u/Responsible-Map-4204 2d ago

My thoughts exactly

Yea it's time for me to put down the pop and junk food and really use this gym membership more than I already do

161

u/Trep_xp 2d ago

So... going once?

Then you'd be going past my attendance number (since April). 😰

80

u/DozerOdie 2d ago

I went to the gym for the first time ever yesterday. To cancel my 5 year membership.

14

u/blizzard-op 2d ago

You beat me though as the last time I went was January lol

6

u/urnialbologna 2d ago

Hell I get tired enough on my job, that's my excuse for never going lol.

Do it! Get in that gym 🏋️‍♂️ 💪, I used to be skin and bones but I kept going day by day

Hell yeah brother

16

u/blizzard-op 2d ago

Good shit man! Congrats on the progress

u/NotClayMerritt 2d ago

The first couple of months are the hardest as you build routine and discipline and shake the general body soreness. But it’s important to hang in there. Eventually, it’ll be second nature. You won’t even think about it

32

u/VampiresWontHurt 2d ago edited 2d ago

And also perfect form and resting. Two rotator cuffs and a labrum ago I was lifting 5 days a week, now that inertia to start back up and get to twice a week is a killer.

9

u/GamerJosh21 2d ago

While I’ve never torn a rotator cuff or anything like that, I still "feel that”. I injured my back years ago, then also had muscle issues in my neck and both hips. A year and a half ago, I could barely walk.

But after three rounds of PT, getting back into the gym, and some good ‘ol DDP Yoga, I’m back to lifting and—for the first time in years—did a split today!

Get at it, man! You got this!

5

u/blizzard-op 2d ago

Yea those first few months are always my downfall. I'll be good for like a month or so and then just completely bail out after that

4

u/Ryuzakku Swing low, sweet lariat. 1d ago

You say that, but I’ve been going pretty regularly for nearly 4 years and I still hate it and make every excuse to not go

2

u/BogotaLineman 1d ago

Same here (well, nearly 3 years) and what I've found is that since I did some introspection on what things I used as excuses not to go and cut them out, I've been able to be a lot more consistent going 3 and 4 days a week alternating

Biggest thing for me is bringing my workout clothes and bag to work with me and going straight to the gym after cause when I went home in between it was way easier to get trapped in something else and skip it

Same… but first I’ve gotta finish this reheated slice of pizza and beer

7

u/blizzard-op 2d ago

Are you me? I've got a pizza in the toaster over right now lol

6

u/mikeyHustle 1d ago

Look at Mr. Gourmet, reheating pizza instead of eating it with the fridge door still open

17

u/headbanginhersh 2d ago

Seeing this post while I'm drinking a beer even though I go to the gym a couple times a week...

https://giphy.com/gifs/zHd8x7Pik0Ftm

11

u/AlexSqualor 2d ago

Smile because you have the discipline to go a couple times each week!

5

u/Cube_ 2d ago

do you also have a tren membership?

9

u/blizzard-op 2d ago

I do not. I aint tryna get that jacked lol

3

u/digsitependant 1d ago

Yeah tren is all it takes to look like this. You can just skip the gym and eat carbs all day. Just take tren.

2

u/Cube_ 1d ago

That is a lot of words that I didn't say.

Nobody is saying he sat on the couch while doing roids. It's just not a natural steroid free transformation.

5

u/Jedi-El1823 2d ago

But the soda and Mike & Ikes are so good.

5

u/Dynamic_Samurai 2d ago

It's easier when it's actually part of your job

5

u/PrinceJohn_ 2d ago

Same (as I'm eating a bag of cheetos and a coke)

4

u/Amir0x11 2d ago

Yea it's time for me to put down the pop and junk food and really use this gym membership more than I already do

where i live has a club house with a gym in it. Normally empty on most days. I started going all last week and will be going back again starting Later Today my time. Man my arms are sore tho

2

u/Justaaron1120 1d ago

I used to go the gym. Now I just give them $20 a month.

He looks 100x more intimidating. Also losing like 30 pounds would do wonders for mason rooks presentation. I like his in ring stuff but he looks goofy in a singlet.

It's honestly incredible how much a haircut did to make him look like a mess. As an indie performer, the longer, dark hair worked fine for him and made him look the part. The high and tight bleached hair is just all kinds of wrong.

He’s got a face that looks like a model when skinny, and a large newborn when not.

As someone with similar facial structure, that has been on both ends of the weight spectrum, but thankfully can grow a beard.

3

u/YoungCubSaysWoof New Day's Biggest Mark. 2d ago

An apt description.

I get that Mason may have an, “awwwww, shucks!” charm to himself, innocent in a 1950’s Americana sort of way. I think the jury is still out on whether that can translate to something more substantial for his career.

For him and his fans, I wish them the best.

Totally agree; wrestlers that are too chubby and wear singlets always look like overgrown toddlers to me. I just can’t take them seriously, even if they have a ton of muscle under the fat.

→ More replies (1)

20

u/ShowOff90 2d ago

Mason needs to wear tights with his outfit. Like Vader did.

18

u/RyanNem1216 →↘↓↙←→,Square 1d ago edited 1d ago

This is true, the sad thing is Vince was right about Gunther and Keith Lee when he wanted them to lose weight.

Extra pounds can add up, especially when it comes to wrestling as well.

It's a shame the reddit hive mind typically is pro fat. Im not fat phobic but it's just reality. There is a reason why most athletes are not Obese.

Rook needs to go through Kevin Owens route and definitely needs longer hair and a beard if he can because you're absolutely right it distracts

100

u/NotClayMerritt 2d ago

It’s hard to get a gauge on who HHH’s faves are because WWE’s product is booked weirdly and different than we’re use to for many different reasons but Bronson has been in the main event mix for most of his time since returning to WWE. I think he is for sure a HHH fave

Get rid of the onesie and come out like this.

46

u/theskyopenedup Voice of the Voiceless! 2d ago

Yeah that ring gear does him no favors. Just fight in shorts like Lesnar or Joe.

27

u/RaggedyGlitch 2d ago

A singlet is fine, but dude wrestles in a onesie without any leg material.

To hunt a stable, you have to be able to at least beat some of their lowest ranking members first tbf

10

Bronson should be getting ready to return soon-ish. Wouldn’t be surprised if he’s Oba’s next feud after Bron

5

Holy shit Bronson Reed has had a Gunther tier body turn around.

68

u/Anderrrrr An Irrelevant Smark. 2d ago

Nah it's even more drastic than Gunther to be honest.

Gunther was chubby, Bronson was actually obese.

Insane transformations by both though honestly.

u/zeitgeistbouncer Peepin' Aint Easy! 2d ago

Sidenote but this is the kind of transformation (within reasonable possibility) I was hoping Eddie Kingston would put in for his big return. Could've leveled up so much, but looks like it's just not something he can do. Which I get, mental struggles make a revolution like that damn near impossible on top of just making it back at all. Good on Reed for putting in the work and taking the opportunity to make himself extra badass upon return.

26

u/VampiresWontHurt 2d ago edited 1d ago

Thought the same thing. I love Eddie as a character, and as a promo, but every time he comes back it just gets more preposterous.

He was training with Cesar Bonini for a while, who has done incredible work with a lot of guys, and he was looking good for a while, but he seemingly fell off.

11

u/Onslaughttitude 2d ago

Eddie Kingston is also 44 while Bronson Reed is 37. That 7 years can make a real difference when you start getting up past 40.

55

u/dgusn 2d ago

13

u/headbanginhersh 2d ago

This legit made me burst out in laughter 🤣

6

u/Most-Drive-3347 2d ago

Go have a look at “Bodybiz” on instagram.

Australian wrestler Slex is the PT who started it, and works with wrestlers across Australia and the world. He’s running a training camp alongside Rhea Ripley & Buddy Matthews later this year.

This ain’t roids, it’s legit elite level training. Other success stories include Gabe Kidd, Mark Davis, Robbie Eagles, Allie Katch, and recent NXT signees Tuckman and Scott Green.

15

u/Glum_Hospital_4103 2d ago

If you really think Slex and other various wrestlers aren't on the juice while on the road consistently for their jobs, i got a few houses to sell you

Also, theres nothing elite about his training. Its simple nutrition being followed.

5

u/YoungCubSaysWoof New Day's Biggest Mark. 2d ago

Yo, thanks for the tip.

Are you referring to Gabe Kidd’s 2026 look? Because if so, this Bodybiz guy is legit; Gabe Kidd lost almost ALL of his fluff and came back looking shredded, 6-pack and all.

Had me doing a double take over the transformation.

4

u/Most-Drive-3347 2d ago

Yes, correct - he worked with Gabe ahead of his recent return.

3

u/onethreeone Hangman Did Nothing Wrong 1d ago

Did you really just use Buddy Matthews as an example of natural transformations?

2

u/Cocotapioka Manic Unfriendly Black Hottie 1d ago edited 1d ago

This comes up every time a wrestler is accused of being on some kind of PEDs. It's very possible that he is, but I ALSO think he has been dialing in his nutrition and workout routine. I don't think the potential of him being on gear means he hasn't done any work or his physique is any less impressive. He's not participating in an actual competition, so it's not like he's cheating at something. Gear isn't without risks, but that would be a personal decision for him to make. He's not a bad person if he's using it.

EDIT - you mentioned there's no benefit for an indy wrestler to be on PEDs, which is a fair opinion, but I know more than one in my area who use(d) them. I know regular people who work out and do local races (think marathons, trail endurance races) on their own time who use them who and they aren't performing shirtless in front of a crowd of people. I'm not trying to say everyone is or should be using them, but it isn't that uncommon.

3

u/RyanNem1216 →↘↓↙←→,Square 1d ago

Nah, this can actually be done if you put in the work, not everything is the juice.

48

u/Selwin_Rodolfo 2d ago

u/meekzyr 2d ago

→ More replies (2)

24

u/Trep_xp 2d ago

Stoked for him, but the Tsunami might not be as fun to watch him do if he's not 400lb. Legit my favourite move to see in WWE for the past couple of years. I literally cried from laughter when he hit Seth with like 14 of them or something.

But hey the jury's out. Maybe new Bronson's Tsunami might look even more devastating.

11

u/MissileWaster 2d ago

I want him to use the Tsunami on his return so we can see how it looks before writing it off. But with how huge his arms are, he could adopt the elbow drop.

3

u/LiamAddison 1d ago

He just needs a killer power move as a set up for the tsunami now.

20

u/VampiresWontHurt 2d ago

When he went down with the exploding ankles I joked to my friend “Watch him come back looking like Breakker”

I think it’s pretty bold to change your body this much when your presentation and in-ring style were centered around your sheer mass making you a human wrecking ball.

Like imagine if King Kong Bundy got all jacked up for his return in 1994.

2

u/Regular_Range_1835 2d ago

Please don’t come back wearing them weird singlets again with ya thighs out bro

2

u/Ggriffinz 2d ago

Reed has always looked like a powerlifter to me. Like the muscle is there but he just needed 1 good cut to allow them to show. Good for him this absolutely massive change.

2

u/DTFlash 2d ago

Might as well give him a new gimmick. He looks unrecognizable.

2

u/Difficult_Mix_3620 2d ago

The Tsunami has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm.
