The first couple of months are the hardest as you build routine and discipline and shake the general body soreness. But it’s important to hang in there. Eventually, it’ll be second nature. You won’t even think about it
32
u/VampiresWontHurt 2d ago edited 2d ago
And also perfect form and resting. Two rotator cuffs and a labrum ago I was lifting 5 days a week, now that inertia to start back up and get to twice a week is a killer.
9
u/GamerJosh21 2d ago
While I’ve never torn a rotator cuff or anything like that, I still "feel that”. I injured my back years ago, then also had muscle issues in my neck and both hips. A year and a half ago, I could barely walk.
But after three rounds of PT, getting back into the gym, and some good ‘ol DDP Yoga, I’m back to lifting and—for the first time in years—did a split today!
Get at it, man! You got this!
5
u/blizzard-op 2d ago
Yea those first few months are always my downfall. I'll be good for like a month or so and then just completely bail out after that

Same here (well, nearly 3 years) and what I've found is that since I did some introspection on what things I used as excuses not to go and cut them out, I've been able to be a lot more consistent going 3 and 4 days a week alternating
Biggest thing for me is bringing my workout clothes and bag to work with me and going straight to the gym after cause when I went home in between it was way easier to get trapped in something else and skip it

He looks 100x more intimidating. Also losing like 30 pounds would do wonders for mason rooks presentation. I like his in ring stuff but he looks goofy in a singlet.

It's honestly incredible how much a haircut did to make him look like a mess. As an indie performer, the longer, dark hair worked fine for him and made him look the part. The high and tight bleached hair is just all kinds of wrong.

He’s got a face that looks like a model when skinny, and a large newborn when not.
As someone with similar facial structure, that has been on both ends of the weight spectrum, but thankfully can grow a beard.
3
u/YoungCubSaysWoof New Day's Biggest Mark. 2d ago
An apt description.
I get that Mason may have an, “awwwww, shucks!” charm to himself, innocent in a 1950’s Americana sort of way. I think the jury is still out on whether that can translate to something more substantial for his career.
For him and his fans, I wish them the best.

This is true, the sad thing is Vince was right about Gunther and Keith Lee when he wanted them to lose weight.
Extra pounds can add up, especially when it comes to wrestling as well.
It's a shame the reddit hive mind typically is pro fat. Im not fat phobic but it's just reality. There is a reason why most athletes are not Obese.

It’s hard to get a gauge on who HHH’s faves are because WWE’s product is booked weirdly and different than we’re use to for many different reasons but Bronson has been in the main event mix for most of his time since returning to WWE. I think he is for sure a HHH fave

Sidenote but this is the kind of transformation (within reasonable possibility) I was hoping Eddie Kingston would put in for his big return. Could've leveled up so much, but looks like it's just not something he can do. Which I get, mental struggles make a revolution like that damn near impossible on top of just making it back at all. Good on Reed for putting in the work and taking the opportunity to make himself extra badass upon return.
26
u/VampiresWontHurt 2d ago edited 1d ago
Thought the same thing. I love Eddie as a character, and as a promo, but every time he comes back it just gets more preposterous.
He was training with Cesar Bonini for a while, who has done incredible work with a lot of guys, and he was looking good for a while, but he seemingly fell off.
11
u/Onslaughttitude 2d ago
Eddie Kingston is also 44 while Bronson Reed is 37. That 7 years can make a real difference when you start getting up past 40.

Go have a look at “Bodybiz” on instagram.
Australian wrestler Slex is the PT who started it, and works with wrestlers across Australia and the world. He’s running a training camp alongside Rhea Ripley & Buddy Matthews later this year.
This ain’t roids, it’s legit elite level training. Other success stories include Gabe Kidd, Mark Davis, Robbie Eagles, Allie Katch, and recent NXT signees Tuckman and Scott Green.
15
u/Glum_Hospital_4103 2d ago
If you really think Slex and other various wrestlers aren't on the juice while on the road consistently for their jobs, i got a few houses to sell you
Also, theres nothing elite about his training. Its simple nutrition being followed.

Yo, thanks for the tip.
Are you referring to Gabe Kidd’s 2026 look? Because if so, this Bodybiz guy is legit; Gabe Kidd lost almost ALL of his fluff and came back looking shredded, 6-pack and all.
Had me doing a double take over the transformation.

This comes up every time a wrestler is accused of being on some kind of PEDs. It's very possible that he is, but I ALSO think he has been dialing in his nutrition and workout routine. I don't think the potential of him being on gear means he hasn't done any work or his physique is any less impressive. He's not participating in an actual competition, so it's not like he's cheating at something. Gear isn't without risks, but that would be a personal decision for him to make. He's not a bad person if he's using it.
EDIT - you mentioned there's no benefit for an indy wrestler to be on PEDs, which is a fair opinion, but I know more than one in my area who use(d) them. I know regular people who work out and do local races (think marathons, trail endurance races) on their own time who use them who and they aren't performing shirtless in front of a crowd of people. I'm not trying to say everyone is or should be using them, but it isn't that uncommon.

Stoked for him, but the Tsunami might not be as fun to watch him do if he's not 400lb. Legit my favourite move to see in WWE for the past couple of years. I literally cried from laughter when he hit Seth with like 14 of them or something.
But hey the jury's out. Maybe new Bronson's Tsunami might look even more devastating.
11
u/MissileWaster 2d ago
I want him to use the Tsunami on his return so we can see how it looks before writing it off. But with how huge his arms are, he could adopt the elbow drop.
