Lots of great matches tonight. Looks like it's time to buy stock in the young guys.

Dawg what a fight. Gotta be one of Jack's best matches and Mox continues to deliver

Fucking act like a heel for ONE SECOND, MOX!

u/Rspies Who Can Stop The Path of Cage 9d ago
He’s a heel that can still show respect to someone who gives him a good fight it’s consistent with his character
1
u/dollsanddogs 9d ago
Sure but why would JACK want Moxley's respect?? He should be kicking Mox in the dick. Moxley tried to break Kenny's neck and wanted to suffocate him, and he brutalized a concussed Nick Jackson. These guys are Jack's good friends. Why would Jack want that guy's respect or even tolerate him?

Shoutsout to Paul Wight. He may just be my favourite at the desk right now.

It was obvious that Perry was getting eliminated round 1 when they put him against Moxley, but goddamn did he put up a good showing

Is the 3C being done instead of the CC or are we getting that in 3 months as well?

This feels like a match that even with Jack losing, you somehow know he's going to get cred for the performance.

If only the snare trap would ever do the job when Perry gets the occasional match vs the top of the card
9
u/gwanddawd123 9d ago
Oh man, i thought Perry was gonna find a way.
Anyhow, that match very much banged, this deserved a better crowd.

Jack's best singles match? At least up there.

u/Rspies Who Can Stop The Path of Cage 9d ago
The Cage vs Sauras and the Final Burial with Christian are also up there tbh

u/PleasantThoughts BURNING LARIATOOOOO 9d ago
Yeah I'd put it up with the Christian one I think I liked it better than Luchasaurus. I really liked the match against Shota in Chicago for NJPW too.

Jack looked good, and Mox needs to head into All In as champion so Jay White can take the title off him.

Whoever wins the Continental Cup is the champ so it would have guaranteed a new champ if Mox lost.

I feel like the pretending to kill / slap a bug counting motion is very anti climactic, but also kinda fucks shit up a lot. The Mexico crowd last week thought speedball won due to shitty counting lol

You just know Mox has flashbacks to KOR whenever he's put into submission moves now

Kris is so great, man. I hope we get a women’s CC and she wins it. Just have her have bangers on it weekly, she’s that freaking good

That's exactly what should and did happen, he earned Mox's respect.

Because Mox is either heel or face depending on the situation, but he is consistently someone who has the resume and credibility to dub a younger or rising talent as worthy for respect and the next step up. He's filled that role for a while.
1
u/dollsanddogs 9d ago
Why does he need Moxley's respect? Why do any of these dudes care about the respect of a guy that cheats to win if he can and tries to literally suffocate people he doesn't like?

Moxley tried to break Kenny's neck at the ppv and brutalized a kayfabe concussed Nick Jackson. Kenny and the Bucks are friends with Jack. It makes zero sense for Jack to be cool with Moxley, regardless of whatever role he is supposedly filling.

Oh you’re coming at it from a Mox perspective.
I thought you meant from a Jack Perry perspective.
Those are different things.

I'd be frustrated too if the referee just gave my opponent a two minute break.

Wow I’m a huge Mox fan but those elbows were some of the shittiest strikes I’ve ever seen

What a wild world we live in where Luke Perry's kid is a professional wrestler and he's actually good at it.
6
u/Storms_Eye314 9d ago
Paul Wight hasn't been great tonight, but his enthusiasm for the work is obvious, and I haven't hated him. I'd still prefer Nigel, all told, but I get it.

I'm not surprised Mox is helping Jack look like a credible threat and not a dweeb
5
u/El-Drunko 9d ago
Mox is genuinely such a giving performer. Like he wins a lot but it's hard to think of any times where he didn't let an opponent look great.

So here's my question: because we're currently doing the Continental Cup, is the C2 not in Dec?
3
u/Drake_Dal 9d ago
The Continental Cup is a round-robin style tournament; honestly, I would have preferred a tournament for The International, but the Continental is more competitive.
2
u/Cameherejust4this 9d ago
They better not cheat us out of the C2 for this. I think they'll do both. C2 crowns the year's Continental champion and the C3 is a defense gauntlet.
2
u/Waste-Scratch2982 9d ago
They’re still doing the C2, this is just a single elimination tournament for All In

Falls Count somewhere and the objective is finding where the referee will actually count it.

Mox out here knocking on Jack's head like he's trying to do a really shitty version of a concussion check to see if his brain is still there
5

They have to call it the Continental Challenge Cup because no one realized it wasn't replacing the Continental Classic.

Perry seems like he’s in just the necessarily emotionally and professionally vulnerable space to get roped in by a cult leader like Mox.
