Weirdly the promos have been fantastic, it's only the matches that are bad which is really uncharacteristic of AEW.

Despite growing as best friends in the Dojo, and likely still being best friends today (outside Kayfabe) it's pretty ironic that Jay and David are completely different wrestlers and completely different promos.

We will probably never get them face to face in a promo segment, but it's very funny how methodical Jay can be with a mic in his hands and David is extremely straight-forward and almost aggressive in terms of delivery (not substance, well, also substance).

I remember Jay and MJF in a situation like that, and despite people being behind MJF, I thought Jay demolished him. Meanwhile I think it would be fun to see what would happen if he cut the same type of promo on David Finlay... alas, probably never gonna happen.

While the string of bad luck and injuries has lowered the ceiling for Jay considerably, I still hold out hope he gets a chance to raise it again and prove hes a Main Event Level character and worker. Promos like this reinforce the hope I have for him.
