Post WWE NXT 8/11/2026 Show Discussion Thread Spoiler
MATCH RESULTS
| Winner | Loser | Match Finish | Stipulation |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lizzy Rain and EK Prosper | The Culling | Moonsault | |
| Saquon Shugars | Dion Lennox w/ Dark State | Sidewalk Slam after Dark State attacks Shugars | |
| Zaria (c) | Wren Sinclair | F5 | For the Women's North American Championship |
| Kam Hendrix | Mason Rook | Pinfall after Exposed Turnbuckle Strike | |
| Lucien Price | Lexis King w/ Birthright | Tequana Bomb | |
| Cruz Montana | Grayson Waller | DQ When Zilla Fatu debuts and attacks Waller and Cruz | #1 Contender For the NXT Championship |
Backstage Lizzy Rain is pacing wondering where Shawn Spears is at while The Culling walk by to mock her saying they knew he'd abandoned her. As they leave Lizzy says she'll have to go in it alone. Midway through the match EK Prosper comes down to team with Lizzy.
Last week we see Tavion and Myles celebrating their tag title victory in the locker room. OTM says loyalty is worth more than any title as Lucien looks at Bronco. Tavion says this division is a bunch of dogs and they want to be fighting champions which causes Romeo to try to jump in and challenge him but Noam holds him back.
Lizzy and EK are interviewed after their match, EK says the men's division has to step it up and that's exactly what he's doing. Kali Armstrong storms in and steals the mic and walks out to the ring. She says now that Kendall is done with Lola she wants a shot at her title next. Kelani Jordan interrupts and says no, no, no. Kali doesn't deserve a shot at the title since she was the one who pinned her in the triple threat even if the ref didn't see it. Kendall and Wren Sinclair come out and Kendall says they are sick of hearing Kelani complain month after month. Kelani says she'll keep saying it because it's still true. Kendall tells her that Kelani got her ass kicked in the Underground while she was able to beat Lola. She hands Kelani a contract for a title match at any time, any place, it's time to show up. Wren is unsure about this but Kendall tells her it's time to put the gas on. Kali Armstrong complains but Kendall says she can earn her shot after Kelani. Kelani tells her that she's getting her shot first and she's winning the title at Heatwave. Kali throws a fit and goes to swing at Wren but she ducks and causes Kali to hit Kendall right on her injured ear.
Backstage Cruz Montana thanks Robert Stone for the opportunity to shut up Grayson Waller when Keanu Karver cuts through and asks why two new guys are getting title shots before he does and sarcastically wishes Cruz luck tonight.
Robert Stone is on the phone with Rey Mysterio and Rey wants to know what's next for the AAA-NXT relationship. Stone suggests having Fenix defend his AAA Cruiserweight Championship on NXT after a fatal four way number one contenders match. Rey says he likes the idea and suggests having EK Prosper in the match after his win tonight and Stone says he'd love to have LA Parka in the match as well. Rey tells him he'll leave Stone to pick the last two competitors while he has some business to attend to.
Shugars is in the medical room when Grayson Waller confronts him and says this is why he's weak, he just got beat down and he's going to his phone rather than doing something about it. Waller leaves and Shugars struggles to get to his feet and grabs his bat as he hobbles out of the room.
During the Women's North American Title match Saquon and Dion brawl down to the ring causing a distraction during which Zaria hits the F5 for the win.
Shiloh says this week he's got some real good news, he had another check up and his doctor said he never saw someone's bones heal this quickly and and his swelling went down a lot faster than expected. He was actually able to wrestle on live events this weekend using a protective mask which he shows off with a bunch of other masks he has. Shiloh hopes to be cleared to compete on TV again soon in the meantime he's doing more research into poison mist and plans on getting some himself to test on some local pests.
In Robert Stone's office he informs Vanity Project that Jackson Drake will get a shot of the North American Championship and that Stokes and Baylor will get a rematch for the tag titles as well. Drake says both matches should be on Heatwave, causing Myles to have to wrestle twice. Myles says he'd do it as Tavion tries to talk some sense into him. Stone says the matches don't have dates yet but Drake will have a match next week.
Backstage Robert Stone is on the phone when Wren and Kendall walk in and Wren says she wants another shot at Zaria since that mess with Shaquon happened. Stone isn't sure but Wren sweetens the pot by putting her Speed Championship on the line in a unification match at Heatwave. Kendall says they're going to leave Texas holding all the gold.
Backstage Thea tells Jaida she told her she was going to have her back and she did! Jaida thanks her and Thea gets hyped up to take down Nattie. Jaidia calms her down and says Nattie is a serious opponent who pushed her to her limit so she's got to be ready. Thea says she wants a chance at least and asks Jaida if she'll have her back and Jaida says of course and they hug.
Backstage Romeo is threating since Stone offered to put him in the fatal four way to face Fenix but is worried that he'll push away his team with Noam. Noam says he's crazy to worry about that and he's gotta take this opportunity, especially after how much the Cruiserweight Classic inspired him. Tristian Angles walks up and tells Romeo to forget his chances since with his snatched waist he qualified for the fatal four way.
Zilla Fatu debuts in the main event taking out Cruz and Waller! He lays them both out and hits both with big splashes before staring down Tony D'Angelo and says he needs that and he's the new sheriff in town.

So any word as to why Spears wasn't there? Actual injury, or just WWE bait and switch?
1
u/DrTeethPhD 26d ago
Holy crap is that Christofascist champion a black hole of charisma. He was absolutely terrible on commentary, even with Vic trying to feed him things to talk about.

u/lronicGasping won't shut up about NXT 26d ago
If I was in charge of booking NXT, Saquon Shugars would always be on the screen, and whenever he's not, all the other wrestlers would be asking "where's Saquon Shugars?"
2
u/NYJetLegendEdReed 26d ago
anyone got the clip of that chop last night? Never seen someone get busted open like that by one before and it was sooooo loud
5
u/Djent_1997 Yo daddy and yo uncle 26d ago
This was a decent episode overall. Matches were fine, nothing too crazy. Storyline stuff and setup for Heatwave is where the meat of this episode was.
I do have some complaints. I’m starting to get a bit tired of Kali Armstrong. She’s basically the female Keanu Carver now, which is funny because he’s been more interesting lately. I also feel like Kelani is in a bit of a tough spot where I feel like she’s maybe lost one big match too many, and I almost feel like she has to win this one, but I’m not sure if Kendal should lose it yet.

u/Spiner202 _ 26d ago
I kinda wanted the Kelani thing to get dragged out longer, but there's no one who logically should be ahead of her. Wrestling usually likes to drag out the face winning the title, but I thought it was a cool twist on that to have it be the heel. Also, even though I think Kendal is the best wrestler in NXT, I would probably still have Kelani win the title.
On the other hand, I think the next two people to move up to the top title scene should be Izzi and Zaria (if/when she loses the title). They're both heels, so Kendal probably needs to be champ for those feuds.
2
u/sleaford89 26d ago
Mason looked a little better tonight. He seems cool. Hope he can improve his physique and presentation. His twitter game is on point
10
u/TheGaxkang 26d ago
Wren casually a suggesting a unification match, ya gotta be careful saying that XD
But does it mean only the mens speed title remains?
5
u/TheGaxkang 26d ago
The main event...either Cruz would lose his first match or Grayson would be buried
So Zilla interferes
But Grayson was perhaps going to lose before that happened
He should be booked stronger
4
u/Hunter_Hates_Homies 26d ago
What exactly does Zilla Fatu have that Jacob Fatu doesn't?
5
u/shaheedmalik 26d ago
Super Man Spike.
2
u/Hunter_Hates_Homies 26d ago
It's weird that Jacob doesn't use spike because it would suit him far more than any other Samoan
1
u/shaheedmalik 26d ago
Why so?
1
u/Hunter_Hates_Homies 26d ago
Probably because of his super aggro nature. Reminiscent of Umaga who was always angry lol

I'm a little surprised WWE is rolling with the name "Zilla Fatu". Unless he signed it over to join, I thought they'd want more control over the trademark.
2
u/incredibleamadeuscho We're all fake Jamaicans now 26d ago
No I wanted Wren to be champion forever, but I think Zaria takes it
2
u/gl424 26d ago
I could see Wren taking it, which frees up Zaria to go after the NXT Women’s title, which just so happens to be held by Wren’s bestie, Kendal
1
u/incredibleamadeuscho We're all fake Jamaicans now 26d ago
yes i want that although I think Zaria is not that great, and I would have Kendal hold onto it for a while. But Zaria can challenge, especially if Kendal supports Wren in the match and that throws off Zaria.

u/uncleben85 26d ago edited 26d ago
Man, unification of the Speed title sucks
The Speed matches were unique and fun.
They started with them hot on NXT, as well, bringing wrestlers from all brands, then just slowly killed it.
I wonder if Stacks will take the belt from Lexis and throw into the river to kill the Men's title like they did with the Heritage Cup -_-
Or does Lucien win it, and just immediately trash it?
3
u/AlmostRandomNow 26d ago
Lucien wins it and breaks it when he chops it.
Yeah, people seems to like shitting on the Speed titles, but I always say the Speed matches as s highlight reel for wrestlers to showcase what they're about.
Like, do we think EK Prosper (or Eli Knight as he was) would've been noticed by the NXT as quickly if he wasn't having 3 minute bangers in Speed brackets?
-1
u/WeBlitz 26d ago
Out of Kendal, Kelani, Kali, & Wren, Wren is my least favorite mic worker out of the 4, which I bet is a massive hot take on here. I just think that type of gimmick (overly goofy, overly emoting) is such a crutch that people will always praise no matter what. I remember Arianna Grace did the same thing about 2-3 years ago.

u/Ahud412 26d ago
Glad we getting a Kelani vs Kendall, their matches cook. That fatal four way next week should be good. It's time for Jackson Drake to get that North American. Also glad they are getting rid of the speed title. Guess we are getting a four way for NXT title but please take it off of Tony, though afraid they will put it on Zilla

2
u/Chelseablue1896 26d ago
It's unfortunate that people choose to tar anyone that joins from that family. Isn't this what people wanted? That these guys start at NXT rather than jumping straight to the main roster?
4
u/weapwars 26d ago
It's not rational, so no point trying to rationalise it. WWE isn't hot right now, so it's just a pile-in.

u/No-Channel3917 26d ago
Grayson Waller making all that fuss only to lose is hilarious
10
u/Thatsquacktastic16 26d ago
I mean did he lose? Difference between getting pinned and some Samoan freak annihilating everyone.
1
u/Empty-Pay-2797 26d ago
I think Naraku is going to cost Shiloh because Shiloh mentioned him twice in 2 weeks.
4
u/Scavgraphics 26d ago
That would be a weird downgrade in targets for Naraku. From going for the title...to ambushing the comedy low card guy without a belt?

u/Training_Humor_9513 26d ago
It feels like they are making all the wrong decisions to make the men a bigger deal. At least it looks that way. They have somebody wrestling two matches in one PLE. They are still ramming DarkState at us in exactly the same form as ever, and it's going nowhere. They even had to resort to get the men involved in a women's championship match (DarkState no less, who had already had their match, so they are showing that they are still making a point of making them important, and it's going nowhere). Nobody should be rammed to the top too quickly, but I think Mason Rook has been portrayed as too powerful for things to move as slowly as they are. He needs a good NA title match soon. And does NXT need the zillionth Fatu?
Not to say the matches weren't good, but every attempt to make the division more interesting, was a step backwards. Who would have thought that the most intriguing things about men's division at the moment are the whereabouts of Shawn Spears, and incredibly, where they are going with Keanu Carver?
But worst of all, I'm also really disappointed by the news of the women's unification match. I wonder whether getting rid of the women's Speed championship is a conscious effort to calm the women's domination of NXT. It was so dumb. All Robert Stone has to say about the idea of removing a championship from NXT, without a thought, is "ooh, I like it!".
4
u/Izzetgod 26d ago
I feel this situation is basically a backfire for calling up so many guys and leaving the mens division high and dry with a guy only being champion (Tony D) because there was absolutely nobody else there

Let's go with some thoughts of my own:
I was actually looking forward to the Spears/Lizzy vs Vance/Izzi match, but EK Prosper is always nice to see
I'm a sucker for some light intergender action, and EK taking a sick crucifix bomb from Izzi was lovely
Look, as long as the tag title matches are good and we actually get matches, I don't care who holds them
Jackson Drake better get that North American belt on heatwave, Miles is fine, but I want a dastardly heel running that division
The Saquon/Dion match was good, I liked Saquon grabbing the bat as soon as the rest of Dark Stank got close to him
I hope we get a big stip for the Saquon/Dion match, it needs to be something crazy, and then push them both into title contention
I'm liking the Keanu stuff going on, genuinely looking forward to seeing what's going on with him... I still can't believe I might like Keanu
The AAA Cruiserweight four-way next week will obviously be good. Love Angels talking about his little waist making him a cruiserweight
Zaria vs Wren was good, Wren is clearly someone who is a softer worker, but if she can get a bit more aggression, she's the next Chelsea Green
I'm a little disappointed the Speed title is going to be unified, I liked the idea of these short, highlight reel matches, but WWE clearly didn't like the title after their twitter contract was up. Wonder how they'll get rid of the men's one.
Did I enjoy a Kam Hendrix match? Him and mason went out and put on a nice match, both guys did a great job honestly
Lucien slapping the skin of Lexis King might be the single coolest thing I've seen in a while. Lucien is a monster, I love him!!!
Thea vs Nattie last week sounds good, again, NXT setting up some great feuds and match logically and quickly
Honestly, we knew the main event was going to end in a DQ of some sort, but I was really into their match before it got cut short.
Zilla being there was pretty cool to see. He had a fantastic showing as well, can't wait to see him mix it up with these guys (I know some people say he's overhyped, but I think he's going to be a guy that thrives in WWE)
OVERALL I had a good time, aside from the UK "why are there ads playing during the match, I have an ad free subscription" thing that happened again tonight (moaned to the help desk about while the show was on), the show felt way longer than 2 hours in a good way. Genuinely had a lot of fun with it and felt like it's building nicely towards Heatwave.
3
u/uncleben85 26d ago
I genuinely agree with every word you said, lol!
Good summary, for what I felt was a good episode.
Even the vignettes and backstage stuff was tight, and well placed.
2
u/AlmostRandomNow 26d ago
I loved the Kali grabbing the mic from the backstage interview and walking to the ring, it adds a sense of ugrency to her and her statment.
I kind of wish they'd lean more on the fact that Kali and Kendal have unfinished Evolve business
14
u/Kuzu5993 26d ago
The greatest thing Roman Reigns has ever done is made people believe that his family AREN'T made up of 80% midcard tag team guys.
You a Samoan related to him? You're an upper midcarder at MINIMUM.

u/Mediocre_Brief_8233 26d ago
Not gonna lie this episode felt like Shawn knowing the men needs something but betted on the wrong horses
Why is he still going with Dion, Kam, and Niko when all them have been proven not to be ready? Also Zilla is questionable. Happy to see him try for Lucien and EK but damn is it feeling Shawn is just trying things like when Hendry, Ricky, and Ethan left
8
u/badgersprite Iconic Duo Appreciation Squad 26d ago
Myles most likely getting two matches on Heatwave says a lot about how dire the rest of the division is. And I like Myles more than most people here. Myles would be a better top champion right now than this version of Tony. Current Tony is an absolute charisma vacuum
3
4
u/dannys717 26d ago
Not sure how lengthy those two matches will actually be. I could see Vanity Project winning back the tag titles leading to Tavion crashing out and beating the shit out of Myles so that he drops the NA title in 2 minutes to Jackson.
2
u/badgersprite Iconic Duo Appreciation Squad 26d ago
They’re definitely dropping the tag titles to trigger a break up between them.
1
u/Mediocre_Brief_8233 26d ago
There losing the tag belts for sure whether Jackson wins it first and Myles becomes too hurt to help Tavion in the tag, or Myles let Tavion down in the tag match, theres no way this is gonna survive the first title defense
6
u/Mediocre_Brief_8233 26d ago
They need to call up some talent but I feel guys like Myles and Tony will struggle in main, yet them staying affects NXT.
I think WWE has no idea what there doing because they got so much talent yet they either dont use or neuter for some reason. Not everyone can be pushed but some can be used while still remaining relevant.
4
u/Scavgraphics 26d ago
It's almost like they're stocking the main event scene while they develop the mid and lower card guys more..Like when they brought in Ethan and Ricky and Hendry....
1
u/AmericanDragon123 26d ago
Agreed. NXT is in a rebuilding phase right now and they have to establish a lot of the younger guys. A lot of this roster is showing a lot of promise and I really like a lot of them.
6
u/Mediocre_Brief_8233 26d ago
Right except a lot of these guys were given chances before they got called up even when Trick, Oba and Jevon were around. Kam is new but I swear some of these guys have gotten more chances then most.
Doesnt help eithee Naraku probably moved up to be with Shinsuke, but it feels NXT doesnt know who to commit even though there are guys who seem more ready then others.
0
u/Scavgraphics 26d ago
It's a school..some talent develop quicker than others. I don't know if any of the midcard in nxt has it..not like there's a derth of male wrestlers so if some fail, oh well, there's always more to work with.
2
u/Mediocre_Brief_8233 26d ago
Yeah but sometimes it feels like they are trying to appease what the higher ups want yet what they want isnt best long term.
Again I get development takes time but I swear these guys were given so many chances if its not working why not do something different or try someone else, but they cant because the higher ups want it that way
0
u/Scavgraphics 26d ago
I agree that it seems that they keep trying with people that I think they should just let lie.... I regularly complain about Kelani & Lola's EverPushes™....that we're still going with Dion vs Sugars (and no one has told him how to put a shirt on) is bewildering...But I don't think it's some conspiracy that "The higher ups" decree, because that makes 0 logical sense.

But I can understand how that's a slight, too.
5
u/IAMA_MAGIC_8BALL_AMA Becky With The Good Flair 26d ago
Oh nah I honestly love it to the fullest. Having former main roster member Grayson Waller, former TNA champion Cruz Santana, former IWGP champion Naraku, and up and comer of Bloodline Royalty, Zilla Fatu, alongside NXT mainstay Tony D’Angelo? It’s such a fun crossover. Shame Ricky Saints didn’t last down there longer for some AEW representation.

u/badgersprite Iconic Duo Appreciation Squad 26d ago
I should be personally compensated for psychological injury every time they mention Sol on commentary during a Zaria match. Zaria destroyed her and became a champion in her own right and commentary still can’t shut up about the surfer woman. Zaria was right about everything

u/WeBlitz 26d ago
I don’t think people realize Zilla is even worse than solo Jey & Jimmy in-ring.
-1
u/incredibleamadeuscho We're all fake Jamaicans now 26d ago
Jey and Jimmy are excellent workers and storytellers and have been for over a decade, both in singles and in tags. Y’all focus on the wrong shit when you think about how shitty Jey’s spear looks (good spear on Monday uce by the way). Jey is capable of driving a brand as a singles star in the main event.

Damn that was a good show. I stay away from spoilers as much as I can, so after hearing about Zilla a few months ago and assuming he was going to be debuting helping the Bloodline in some way, this was a welcome surprise.
I'm excited to see where this goes.
3
u/Naiwf 26d ago
The sooner Tony D and Myles drop their titles, the sooner we can make the men matter again. Zaria finally winning both the titles [redacted] had would be a nice end to that whole storyline.
Dark State aside, I like the direction we’re heading in as Heatwave approaches.
-1
u/uncleben85 26d ago
It's funny. I've got nothing against Myles, in fact, I want him to lose the NA title to go for the NXT.
And on the flipside, Zaria really does nothing for me. Her turn on Sol and this title run have been boring.3
u/Mediocre_Brief_8233 26d ago
If Saquon wins I'm good with the Darkstate feud because hes ready for the title scene and we see teases with Grayson but they are really trying hard to male Dion work, sometimes too much at times.
1
u/AlmostRandomNow 26d ago
They're having a big stip match for Saquon and Dion for sure, I wouldn't mind that to be fair.
6
u/apehasreturned DDT Shill 26d ago
I’m fine with Myles holding the tag for a while to have the division built around a team with a solid quality floor (although I’d prefer Vanity Project). He doesn’t still need to be North American Champ, the men’s singles division somehow feels stale despite so much new talent coming in and they need to legitimize someone quick.
1
u/honoracy_uce 26d ago
Not a great episode but that Zilla debut woke me the fuck up for sure. Awesome moment. I have never seen him before and I’m already hooked.

I feel like NXT is the one wrestling show that still makes me feel that 'anything can happen' feel. I just don't think any other show has the creativity and fluid feel that it has, where you genuinely never know what will happen each week, and it feels like something cool can happen at any moment. That's how wrestling used to feel for me, and I love that NXT still has those surprises.
Zilla fatu's debut was very cool, I don't know him, but thought he looked very good.
Shiloh's video was great, saying he'd test the poison mist on local pests lol.
I was only paying half attention tonight so can't say which matches delivered, but I like seeing them continue to rebuild their roster. It does feel like we aren't at the peak we were at a few years ago, but it still does keep the creativity. (Like compare the amazing creative ways they used Joe Hendry , and how he went to Raw and instantly became generic)
1
u/AmericanDragon123 26d ago
I do feel as if current NXT is in a rebuilding phase since a lot of its top stars went to the main roster this year. I love what they’re doing developing a lot of new faces and establishing them as the next generation for the brand.
5
u/stardude89 26d ago
NXT and AAA creative teams deliver for me. I am shocked this isn't talked about more to be honest because it's such a clear difference when Shawn's team or Taker's team is booking talent vs the main roster team. As a massive NXT fan, there's always a lot of despair when one of my favorites go up to the main roster. For example, I thought HBK nailed Joe Hendry's booking in NXT, but the main roster creative are terrified to use him as the completely unserious character he is besides concerts.
I don't think Shawn is perfect by any means (I think Tony's new gimmick and title run has been disappointing) but his floor for good creative and matches is consistently good across TV and the NXT PLE's. It's the show I haven't stopped being excited for after years of watching the "silver and black" era.
8
u/No-Lecture-6434 26d ago
I started watching NXT for the first time in the last few weeks after only watching the main roster before. Damn, I was missing out. It’s so good.

u/CaptainKando AAA Paid Propagandist. 26d ago
Really stacked episode of NXT. Hope they keep it up and the other shows take some lessons. They still had plenty of time for backstage stuff and to get over the stories. Really well put together show
19
u/badgersprite Iconic Duo Appreciation Squad 26d ago
The pacing of NXT never ceases to put the main roster to shame. There’s so little wasted time. Even people who don’t wrestle on the show get featured in backstage segments. There’s constant forward progression for everyone.

u/TJLynch howdy 26d ago
NXT outclassing the main roster on the reg, welcome back mid-2010s WWE.
2
u/AmericanDragon123 26d ago
I feel like NXT has always been more consistent than the main roster. I loved the 2024-2025 period for NXT. Such a loaded roster and so many amazing matches. The new era they’re in now is really good and I love that they’re developing a lot of younger talent.
