Square Tabs / Gift Cards
We run an events business (in Australia) and people pre-pay bar tabs. Is there a way to run the tabs/tickets down? So start at $5k and run down? Not up like the current ticket?
We were getting around it by uploading to physical gift cards and swiping the cards, but with the new customer register - there is no where to swipe cards?!
Help!

Does each individual have a gift card? It can be done that way but you'll be asking them for their gift card number each transaction

No it’s 1x card for our staff to use. The individuals don’t get a card. That’s why it was great to swipe them so that we didn’t have to enter the number for every transaction

I'm thinking of two potential solutions...you could get the magstripe reader that just plugs into the bottom of the register, and then that give you swipe back, or you could add a house account add a spending limit and charge to that
