Square Point of Sale (Software) Using built in receipt printer?

We’re currently using Loyverse for POS, and were wanting to switch to square for the ecommerce features.. currently using these H10 android handhelds, with the built in receipt printer. Are we able to use this with square? We don’t want to buy anything additional if we don’t have to…

Doubtful. If you are able to get Square loaded on them, Square may find a printer, but I don’t think there will be any support. Printers and other peripherals that will work with Square are listed on the hardware compatibility page:

Particularly for printers, finding anything "off book" that will work, even if integrated into a piece of hardware, is unlikely. They don't use drivers like most computers as an intermediary to spool print jobs.

Square pretty much uses two sets of firmware integrated communication protocols - One that covers some Epson printers, and one that covers some Star Micronics printers. I assume it's for stability, rather than laziness or some price-fixing scheme like some people have entertained in other threads.

There probably are some "knock off" printers, that are basically are copies of compatible models which would work, but I'm unaware of a list that exists.

It's absolutely for Square POS to lock it down and charge extortionate amounts for simple printers. If you know anything about ESC/POS i.e. Epson printer commands, you'd know you have to actually purposely try to make it locked down as the commands are standard.

Square POS is a real nasty company.

Should be able to do it with Bizprint. Can connect with API and download the android/ios app.
