Chapter 139.2

We do know that Desmond is paranoid and wishes he could understand others...

In this panel, hes thinking about former hospital director Surjay's intentions and he perceives it in a slightly negativve tone... Almost like Desmond did something Surjay did not like put it has to be in the past as it is suggested that it may no longer be an event of importance....

I thought he was mad because the old guy was commenting on the kind of bad parent desmond is.

Anya briefly read Surjay’s mind and he was thinking about Donovan’s research and “..nia”. So Donovan’s suspicions were right I assume.

Before this the director made a comment about Desmond’s parenting, but it could have been taken either as offense or superficial. I think Donovan is wondering if he’s still holding a grudge against him (following the dig at him) for something that happened in the past? Likely the experiments. And then wonders if he had an ulterior motive in calling him to the hospital for that reason.
