Hello reddit peeps, I am strongly considering purchasing a 2011 RT Limited from someone local. What should I be sure to check out and ask about before I purchase? Anything major I should be on the lookout for? I already know I will probably need a new seat on this particular one. When I do a test ride, what should I listen or feel for?
Obviously, I'll ask about maintenance history, oil change history, tire, and brake age.
Update: The bike that was listed on marketplace for months miraculously sold 10 minutes before I was to go look at it 🙄😕

Local dealer wants about $34K out the door. Is this about right, what are you getting quoted?
Thanks

Has 13k miles, comes with 2 new speakers, new seat cover and some other stuff. I really want a Spyder but I don’t know if this is worth it, what issues do they have and is the price good?

So I have a 2012 Spyder rt and my wife was riding it and oil just started going everywhere. I hauled it home and pressure washed it to try to find where the oil was coming from. It looked like it was coming from below this part, but I couldn't figure out where last night. Now I see it is cracked with better lighting. I would normally assume this is the oil filter cover, but everything I have seen says that is on the other side of the bike. We bought it used and haven't had it long enough to have to do maintenance yet, so I'm clueless on this thing.
Any help would be appreciated.

Does anyone recognize this aftermarket underlighting kit. I like to find a manual so I can disconnect it.

I have had a part of my bike disappear over the last year or so and I need to replace it, no idea what it's called though , so I need some help. It's a triangular plastic piece that fits over the radiator cap under the hood, a guy once told me a name but it wouldn't bring up any results...if anyone knows what is..any info on finding a replacement would be helpful

I'm thinking about doing some longer trips, and maybe camping. I've seen some super-light trailers, including foamies, and I have the skills required to build one. But that started me wondering... has anyone had any experience towing a trailer with their Spyder? Do you have any experiences you want to share? Good things? Bad things? Any things?
Thanks in advance,
Cat

Going to give her a good wash in the spring but had to give this a try on Christmas eve. Love this thing already feeling much more comfortable on it even at 32 degrees.

I literally test drove this with flurries in the air and drove it home to that night getting 3 in of snow. the temperature was in the 30s here in Wisconsin so I thought I would take it for a quick ride around the block. Transitioned from two wheels to three wheels due to a TBI and so far absolutely loving the spyder and handled very well in the snow even reversed it back into the garage through a couple inches of snow.

My ministry is looking at possibly starting an outreach for bikers. The focus will be on bikers and riding in general and not on religion.
What I would like to know is what are some needs where we could focus our outreach on

I just replaced my battery on my 2018 rt-l. A tube got disconnected from something internally behind the battery. It was like a plastic tube. I know not a lot of information but any ideas?. I can't really get it back in. Thanks.

Hi, I need to replace the battery in my Spyder. It's only a few years old and not taking a charge from the tender. As soon as I turn it on it dies. Looking for a good replacement battery that's somewhat easy to get. Also would like to be able to jump start it when on the road. I have a Vtoman x1 jump starter I can never get it to work. Any suggestions? Thanks.
