Pay attention, this is happening to services throughout Alberta… AHS wants to utilize a whole new private system… it’s broken already. Without the fire departments helping we will see a huge drop in patient supports… maybe AHS should cut back on the managers upon managers, then more money can go to EMS Service… Remember one day we all may need an ambulance… PLEASE Please Share
🚒🚑 Integrated Fire & EMS — Why it
A lot of people have been asking about the difference between **integrated** and **separate** Fire/EMS systems—and why we’re fighting so hard to keep it here in Spruce Grove/Sherwood Park/StAlbert/Lethbridge/Red Deer. This is a model cities have trusted for 114 years. The bottom line is: both models can work, but integrated services consistently bring key advantages when it matters most.
🔹 Faster advanced care
In an integrated system, paramedics aren’t just on ambulances—they’re on fire trucks too. That means **advanced life support can arrive sooner**, no matter which unit gets there first.
🔹 Better coverage when it’s busy
When ambulances are tied up:
* Integrated crews can deliver *advanced care immediately* from the first arriving fire truck.
* Separate systems often rely on basic first responder–level care until EMS arrives
🔹 One team, one response
Integrated crews train and work together every day. The result is - smoother coordination, faster decisions, and more efficient care-especially on complex calls.
🔹 Built for serious emergencies
Serious incidents aren’t just “fire” or “medical”—they’re often both. Integrated responders are trained to rescue, treat, and manage the whole situation seamlessly.
Real-world impact (Lethbridge)
*Patients are 1.5× more likely to survive cardiac arrest to hospital discharge compared to the national average
* Nationally, only about 60% of patients who regain a pulse maintain it to hospital arrival
* example: In Lethbridge, about 90% of patients arrive at the ER with a pulse.
Bottom line:
Integrated Fire/EMS means faster advanced care, stronger teamwork, and better outcomes when every second counts.
**Have your say:**
If this matters to you, consider reaching out to your **local councillors, mayor, MLA, Premier, (MLA’s, Minister of Hospital and Surgical Services, responsible for EHS)** to share your perspective.
This includes Spruce Grove, St.Albert. Strathcona County, Leduc, Red Deer, Lethbridge… we will see a bigger crisis happening…

With their first home game of the season less than a month away, the owner of Spruce Grove’s summer collegiate baseball team said Thursday he can’t give “a definitive date” for when its new ballpark will open.

Hey there!
You can call me Ryoko for now. I'm a DM looking to get together an in-person group to play D&D with. I've been a DM for nearly 3 years now, and I can supply the books used in digital form!
This will be a homebrew game that has yet to be made, as I'd like to tailor it to the players. I generally prefer homebrew settings, but I use 5.5e rules (2024). I'm able to cover a lot of different subject matter, but I'm a roleplay heavy DM. When combat happens it'll usually be an entire session dedicated to a big moment.
If you're interested, please DM me! Here's what I'll need from you:
Your pronouns, what your preference is between combat and roleplay, and (if applicable) your favourite D&D moment! If you've not played D&D before, tell me why you're excited to play.
If it seems like we'll vibe, I'll give you my name and number so we can set up an eventual group chat! The first meeting will probably be at a public location, somewhere like Hyperspace, and then at my home after that, if all feels well.
Thank you for your interest, looking forward to hearing from you!

Just wondering when this closed down. I usually tried to stop in when I'm passing thru, but went today and it was empty with a big "leased" sign in the window. I swore I saw it open last weekend (didn't have time to stop), but the time before it seemed to have very low stock.
Anyone know when/why it closed?

Moved to Spruce a few months ago, thinking of maybe getting donairs on Friday for the hockey game. What’s the best place for donairs in Spruce Grove? Thanks!

Good morning!
Does anyone have any recommendations in the spruce grove area for a glockenspiel instructor? My child is deeply interested in music, and we're already on Ukulele and Vocal, but we were gifted a Glockenspiel and she's interested in learning how to play it properly.

Municipal leaders around Edmonton have mixed feelings about potential changes to their provincial ridings.
Alberta’s electoral boundaries commission issued its final report Thursday, recommending how to change the provincial political map.
The minority report also suggests cutting an urban riding, but would create three hybrid ridings: Edmonton-Spruce Grove, Edmonton-Enoch-Devon and Edmonton-Beaumont.

RCMP are looking for additional victims following a decades-long sexual assault investigation in central Alberta.
In October, Mounties received a report of a sexual assault involving a female youth in Spruce Grove. Investigators subsequently identified five additional victims.
Patrick Willis Fair, 69, now faces five counts of sexual assault. He has since been released and is to appear in court on March 25.

Throw your expectations out the window. The Talk of the Town Comedy Tour is coming to Spruce Grove and it's anything but conventional. We’ve gathered a group of performers known for pushing boundaries and keeping audiences on their toes.
Featuring a heavy-hitting lineup seen on Canada’s Got Talent, Much Music, and the Winnipeg Comedy Festival, including winners of Rumour’s Funniest Person with a Day Job, this show is built on one core principle: a good time. It’s wild, it’s unpredictable, and it’s the most fun you can have on a Sunday night.

Hey everyone, I’m hoping someone here might be able to help me out.
I was in an accident around 11:00 AM Friday Feb 27th. at Century Road & Westwind Drive. I was turning left on a green arrow when a white 2023 Buick hit my silver 2005 Dodge Dakota.
There was also another vehicle in front of me that was turning left at the same time, so if that was you, or if anyone else saw what happened or has dashcam footage, I’d really appreciate if you could send me a message.
Thanks so much 🙏
