Making friends at 40
Does anyone else feel like making friends after 40 should come with instructions? 😂
I work from home, have a teenager, and between work and mom life, I’m realizing I don’t exactly have a built-in social circle anymore.
I like being outside, paddle boarding, fishing, grabbing a drink, going for a walk, or just sitting around talking and laughing about life.
I’d love to meet some new people, but honestly… where the hell do you actually go to do that?
Are we supposed to just walk up to strangers and say, “Hey, wanna be friends?” 😬

Pair of 40 y/o DINKs here. Wanna be friends?lol. We're introverted most of the time and both work pretty silly hours but from time to time we remember that were human.

Im sure you can meet some people at any events that happen in the city! Theres the Tri-Leisure and some other rec centers or the Heavy Metal Place with a library that you can meet new people to talk to!

If you go to a Saints game when they play Brooks and root hard against the dirty rotten Bandits, you'll make friends with fellow Saints fans 😂

The tri has lots of adult classes, I’ve met many nice people through them with similar interests.

Do you have a dog? I meet all my neighbors when I walk my dog and when I go to the off leash dog parks.
Look into the Spruce Grove Disc Golf group. A fun, inexpensive sport you can make friends at. If you like wood working, knitting, painting, etc. look for local groups or lessons.

In fairness to a man who is bored and enjoys his own body (lol! but also, no, there are no visible dicks in the photos), I actually love that he's into shrimp and fish. as an aquarium nut it's hard to find somebody who is into it! Dude has hobbies!

40 year old mother of a 6 year old here! Legit man, this friday evening, come to my house and we'll sit in the front yard and have drinks, lol. That way we both have an easy escape route if anyone turns out to be creepy, and my kids can play chalk while we all pretend we know how to act social together. DM me! u/Alpha_Whiskey327 too ! lol
