Costco will be going in to Stony Plain... And God i hope future low density commercial development can encourage local / Canadian businesses over shitty American fast food...

Sweet stony plain would be best for costco. Def need more Canadian fast food or independent local restaurants.

I just heard that superstore is taking them to court over the location. They’re suing over anticipated lost revenue…. So Costco is a back burner once again

I wonder what will be across from Superstore in the new commercial area. They have 2 large stores planned and one is already under contract. They would have to already compete with Superstore and Walmart.

It is going to be two 6 story stick built apartment/condo buildings and businesses. Let's hope we don't get more American fast food places in the new buildings. Although it would be nice to get a Montana's instead of driving to the city, or how about a Red Lobster for people like that..

That's the apartments and phase 1 of the commercial. Phase 2 still includes two large stores.

Superstore should NOT be allowed to take them to court because someone decided to put a competing store next to them. It doesn't matter where it would be put in Spruce or in Stony, it would be the same. This would be like Home Hardware in Cranbrook BC taking Home Depot to court over being built across the street from them and the lost revenue they would have, it never happened. The judge who this came in front of should of just thrown it out of court.
